Merci Yan.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with great retention and some excellent lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with light cognac notes with well hidden alcohol. Taste is a great mix between some tar and some sweet roasted malt with well rounded cognac finish with very subtle fusel notes. Body is full with nice creamy notes and some good carbonation with almost no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed and a great improvement over the original beer which I was never a big fan of – Cognac barrel were very well used and drinkability is up there with the level of complexity in this beer.

Bottle 375 ml
Aroma: lovely character dry softness that should exclude it self. Superior round aromas of chocolate , toasted barley and alcohol.
Appearance: dark brown going into black. Large tanned fine top, lace – all is in. 4+
Body/Flavour/Palate: Full bodied, alcohol upfront , bitter sides, hints of raisin. Bottom sweetness. Finishing with more alcohol. Well composed but aroma promised another level.

Had this one at the ACBF 2011. Black colored brew. Aroma has coffee, cognac, sweet malts. Flavor has cognac, dark fruits, chocolate, oakiness. Nice smooth beer.

Black with a medium dark Brown head. Intense powerfull roasted malt aroma, sweet bakery products, dark suger and the cognac is also quite nice. Roasted bitter flavor, dry ashy, thick dark sugery sweetness. The palate is so thick and Rich, that the alchohol feels quite soft resulting in a, for me, nice balance. Really big brew.

Enormt stark doft.

Bottle. Black with a small tan head. Heavy nose of coffee, roasted malt, licorice, alcohol. Not much carbonation with a thick and oily mouth feel. The taste was sweet withdark fruits, coffee, some vanilla and notes of cognac. Vinous and warming, the alcohol is there. I guess you either love or hate this beer, I liked it!

Thanks to Alex for this... pours dark black with a great light tan head, good retention and lace... nose is outstanding chocolate that is a bit bitter with wonderful cognac spirit notes, integrated perfectly, reminds of a Belgian chocolate liquor candy... the taste is equally nice, especially for the abv, the 17.5% is hidden completely, chocolate brownies with cognac... crush this, and soon
