from Erzbierschof.ch - colour of a black hole with a dark beige foam löeft and a nice lacework; very roasted coffeish aroma with metallic notes, hazelnuts, vanilla as well as whisky and woody notes below; very thick and full-bodied, sticky and hugely bitter; very tasty; very long bitter roasted finish with notes of coffee, ashes, metal and licorice; very dry and with strong notes of warming alcohol - extreme stuff! fiulijn (20993) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 9, 2011
Tasting at Papsøkappldav123 (6122) - GERMANY - SEP 5, 2011
It pours a very thick and oily black color, with just few sparse bubbles. The aroma is not very strong, but quite interesting, with dusty chocolate, cocoa nibs, coffee grains, tobacco; light cardboard too; it smells almost like an old grocery store in traditional villages. Strong body, the mouthfeel is actually less oily than expected; the flavor is sweet as usual, with very strong chocolate and some more roasted malt in the final; traces of whiskey. Correct bitterness. Well balanced, in its powerdom.
Thanks to yespr for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, a bit oily. Heavy malty and roasty aroma. Starts intense malty, quite roasty, also quite alcoholic. Finish fiery, complex malty, burning aftertaste. Finish could be a bit more balanced. kschep (1707) - DENMARK - SEP 1, 2011

375ml bottle. Great whiskeyish notes aroma that knocks one out right away but the coming crazy-heavy-sweet stuff is already perceptible. Very heavy beer, almost with a feeling of liquid tar. Delightful notes of dark chocolate, dried berries, cherries, whisky, with some sour notes but it is so, so sweet. Even the quite intense herbal hoppiness can’t really balance this out. Well-done, amazingly attractive marketing presentation but I guess I like my barrel-aged Imperial Stout better when less intense in sweetness and, most probably, in alchool.

(375ml bottle best by 7/15/19 thanks to bu11zeye) near black with light tan soapy edge bubbles. Nose of whiskey, caramel, vanilla and ashy. Taste of whiskey, big alcohol, vanilla, very ashy, an alcohol bomb! Not nearly as good as the Islay. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 8, 2011
Bottle. Something special to celebrate tonights stage of the tour. Pours jet black with billowy dark tan coloured head. Huge amounts of lacing as it falls away. On an initial pour the aromas are dominated by the alcohol. Sweet dark fruits and some roasted grain start to come through Once the alcohol dies away the aromas are very sweet. Flavours are likewise very sugary sweet initially with plenty of vanilla coming through.. At the back of the palate this sweetness gives way to agressive roasted grain bitterness and alcohol burn. Very full creamy mouthfeel. Very bog beer. Rasmus40 (21474) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2011
Black with a dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and lots of alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and very bitter. Dry and very bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. Too much alcohol for my liking. 220410 SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 17, 2011
