The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a pitch black, with minima dark brown head. Aroma is coffee, with hints of sweetness and sugar, and of course booze. Can taste the alcohol but it’s not overpowering for such a high alcohol content. Aftertaste is coffee and lots of sweetness. May be due to the fact I’d already had 8 beers by the time I drank this but it went down very nicely!

From Cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Shared with Carlos. With Pok cheese. Pretty alcoholic (specially as warms up) and bitter, with liquorish and metallic notes, but still the 18.7 abv isnt as boozy as in gordon's finest. Surprisingly, the foam resists very long for such a high abv.

375ml bottle @ home. 2007 Vintage, thanks Alex
. Pours an opaque oily black no head at all. Nose is a mix of an ashtray, soy sauce, and molasses. Flavour is quite simliar, moderately sweet roasted malt, hints of dark fruits, ample amounts of soy sauce, molasses, and a light ashtray character. The abv smoothness is dangerous and by no means warming at all. Wow, as it is quite delicious.

Bottle from my wife. Thanks! Marked as 18.7% abv. Pours pitch black with nice thick brown head. Aroma is roasty with coffee, resin, pine, nuts, wood. Taste is bitter and somewhat sweet with lots of roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, resin, chocolate.

Black colour, c dark tan head. Aroma is malty, vanilla, coffee, raisins. Bitter taste, light roasted malts, dry towards the finish, plenty of licorice. Medium body, low carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Nice.

33cl can at home. Appearance: pours viscous and pitchblack with big, khaki head. Aroma: the aroma is overall pretty sweet. Notes of roasted malts, alcohol, coffee, peach, some liquor like whisky or bourbon. Taste: high sweetness and (very) high bitterness. Notes of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, fruits, lychee (strange enough), toffee. Finish is dry and really bitter. Palate: full bodied, thick oily texture and medium carbonation. Wow this is intense, maybe too intense. Most bitter beer i've had so far. Very intense aroma and taste, but a bit too boozy and bitter. I totally agree with the description: not for sissies.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2017 Opaque dark brown/black beer with a medium/large dark brown head. Medium/heavy aroma that is weird somehow being very sweet and roasted. Amazing taste with loads of sweet rich dark sugar and chocolate. The roasted finish is full of coffee, but I would almost say too roasted. Too sweet and dry at the same time.

15cl from tap @ Multi Qlti. Pours black, lovely chocolate head, looks like whipped cocoa. Aroma is rather sweet, chocolate, coffee, a bit of whisky, wood and plums. Taste is first very sweet, chocolate, plums, then it goes very bitter and dry, woody. Tons of alcohol sadly. Felt more like a beer-ish liquor rather than RIS. If it had less alcohol feeling it would've been much better.

An evidently dense black body with a thin light tan head. The nose hints at dark fruit, coffee and citrus hops. This is another monster IS by Mikkellar, but it does not produce as unified a taste profile as some others. Big berries, chocolate, bitter coffee and some hops. There is a slight venous undertaste at work here and the bitterness of the hops and coffee are a touch too strong in the finish. Overall, tasty and rich, but quite sweet and a bit jagged in the aftertaste.
