The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a small brown head. Aroma is malty and alcoholic, burnt sugar, roasted malt, bitter chocolate. Taste is malty and sweet, caramel, burnt sugar, coffee, chocolate. Very thick and alcoholic. Dry and bitter finish.

375 mL bottle. The pour is a nicer dark black with a thick tan head and a solid lace against the glass as it falls to a dense cap. The aroma is pretty complex. There is a creaminess about it and a strong chocolate. A bitter roast and a light caramel are present. A dark fruit kind of moves in late with a hint of smoke and a light alcohol. This is pretty intense. The flavor is really different. This is almost like a hugely bitter dark fruit medicine. There is a big time scorched malt and a heavy, heavy bitterness. The bitter is definitely a bit of a turn off here. The light chocolate and toffee finish is crazy. There is so much happening. The mouth feel is definitely thick and viscous, heavy bodied with a soft carbonation and a heavy, heavy bitterness on the back end. This almost had a perfect plate if it weren't so god damned bitter. Overall, this is a very intense beer. 7 4 6 4 14

Czarne z drobnopęcherzykową beżową pianą na jeden palec. W aromacie ciężki zapach ciemnej czekolady z odrobiną alkoholu w tle. Na drugim planie ciemne owoce. W smaku masa słodyczy, alkohol prawie niewyczuwalny - bardzo ułożone piwo. Kontra goryczkowa bardzo wyczuwalna. Fantastyczne piwo.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2017 This is an incredibly intense beer. Almost more of an experience than a beverage.

Czarne, no klasa
Jest srogo, not for sissies for sure! Generalnie to jest mega goryczka! I to od chmielu, alko i palonych też. Jest trochę owoców, czekolady i to mocno kontruje tę gorycz. No piwo jedyne w swoim rodzaju zdecydowanie.

33cl can at home. Pours a pitchblack colour with a moderate creamy brown head which has good retention which leaves nice lacing. Aroma of stone fruit, dark chocolate, candy sugar, dark fruit, roasted malt, coffee. Taste is fairly sweet, moderate bitter with a fairly coffe dry finish. Notes of coffee, roasted malt, slight smoked malt, caramel, slight toffee, stone fruit, chicory. Texture is viscous and thick, full bodied with soft carbonation. Really good beer but the finish is pretty harsh

Can, shared with friend. Extreme experience, dark almost oily liquid. Malty aroma with some notes of hops and liquorice. Malt in taste, alcohol is noticeble only in warmth. Excellent

Can from cork and cask Edinburgh. Pours a jet black with a large toffee brown head. Great lacing. Aromas of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, stone fruits, smoky, malt, Demerara sugar. Taste is very sweet with a smokey, roasty, complexity. Flavours of sweet mocha, dried stone fruits, fudge, smoke, liquorice. Long sweet, roasty, almost pine like linger. Complex and more depth with every sip. Have another can and will re-rate in 1 year.

colui72 (1069) - HONG KONG - AUG 23, 2017
Pitch black, pours fizzy with a generous tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is strong burnt malts and alcohol. Tastes of burnt malts and alcohol. Very very bitter, notes of dark fruits and chocolate, but the bitter feel is too harsh. Full bodied and smooth, creamy, burning my stomach right now. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad beer but it’s too boozy and too bitter (although it fades when you get used to it), its taste could have been more flavourful for this type of stout, like adding vanilla or whatever.
