Opaque brownish black color with a tan head. Funky sour lactose, grass, and coffee aroma. Strong sweet coffee, cherry, and plum flavors, with a fair amount of sour lactose. A medium dry finish with a lot of alcohol burn. An interesting combination. I wasnt sure after the ultra funky aroma, but the flavor is pretty nice. Its growing on me.

330ml can @ Chez Sophie. Pours black, good tan head. Aroma is distinctly sour with a green apple acidity, and mild roast. Definitely does not smell like a 16% imperial stout. Taste is perhaps a little harsh and more sour than expected, clean and sharp rather than sweet and unctious. Some bitter coffee roast, apple acidity again. Not what I expected at all. I have a bottle of this ageing, so will re-rate.

Can from Brewdog @ 16.1%. Super bitter, some rich dark fruitiness, contains the booze well. Very good if obviously challenging.

2015 vintage. Coffee, chocolate, some prunes and licorice in nose. Pours pitch black with tall and lacy tan head. Taste is heavy sweet with espresso, chocolate, licorice, booze, prunes and raisins. Medium to high bitter finish, soft to average carbonation, full to average body. Overall pretty good with well hidden ABV but its bit too sugary.

Bottle, I believe 2012 vintage, 17,3% abv. Pours a pitch black beer with a surprisingly large head for such an old and strong beer. Aroma has lots of alcohol in there, some molasses and a vague hint of something perfume-ish. Also some iodine in there. Flavor has lots and lots of nailpolish at first, quite disgusting. After a few sip youll get used to it, but its most definitely there. Also a lot of boozy notes, really sharp on the edges and quite high in carbonation still. The aftertaste is strong and burning. Really unbalanced, perhaps too old, who know, but messy, sharp and unbalanced. During the drinking it gets better, but no world class for sure.

Butelka do 22.10.25.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2017 Bottle from McHughs. Pours deep jet black with fluffy tan head. Aroma is alcoholic coffee with a harsh solvent background. Hints of tannic, plum. Flavour is big sweet ripe plum, cherry chocolate with an alcohol end. Fairly smooth for the abv. Great lacing. Mixed emotions on this, all I know is that there will be a hangover.

Intensive aroma of liquor together with cheries, plums, reisins and roasted malt. Small but durable beige head. Completely black colour. Very intensive roastiness and hoppy bitterness in taste with a bit of alcohol. Bitterness is so big that the body feels dry.

(bottle) Aroma:green apple, solvent note of roasted malt. Appearance:black color,medium-sized brown head. Taste:semi-sweet,flavour of roasted, malt, huge green apple and booziness. Palate:medium body, low carbonation.very boozy. Overall:Bad one, solvent notes and boziness are too rampant.

Can 0,33. Pours pitch black with large beige head. Good retention and lacing. Coffee, roasted malts, hops, alcohol. Full body, oily texture and soft carbonation. Coffee and hops are nice, but to much alcohol for my taste.
