2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
A: Appropriately, the beer pours black in color. It also has no head, but I guess I’m not surprised.
S: Doesn’t smell anywhere near as offensive as I feared. Booze, certainly, but it’s mostly just roasted malts. There is a hint of ash and burnt sugar, maybe some licorice, too.
T: Although the aroma wasn’t too bad, the flavor is quite another story. Lots of tar flavor accompanied by sugar. There is more tar and asphalt, followed by booze. A very intense licorice flavor, almost like anise extract. A bit of burnt sugar and prunes.
M: Medium to full bodied with very low carbonation.
O: The aroma was pleasantly surprising, but the flavor was just unfortunate.
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2017 Opaque dark brown/black beer with a medium/large dark brown head. Medium/heavy aroma that is weird somehow being very sweet and roasted. Amazing taste with loads of sweet rich dark sugar and chocolate. The roasted finish is full of coffee, but I would almost say too roasted. Too sweet and dry at the same time. sailor_one (77) - Krakow, POLAND - OCT 12, 2017
15cl from tap @ Multi Qlti. Pours black, lovely chocolate head, looks like whipped cocoa. Aroma is rather sweet, chocolate, coffee, a bit of whisky, wood and plums. Taste is first very sweet, chocolate, plums, then it goes very bitter and dry, woody. Tons of alcohol sadly. Felt more like a beer-ish liquor rather than RIS. If it had less alcohol feeling it would've been much better. Gluepot (682) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2017
An evidently dense black body with a thin light tan head. The nose hints at dark fruit, coffee and citrus hops. This is another monster IS by Mikkellar, but it does not produce as unified a taste profile as some others. Big berries, chocolate, bitter coffee and some hops. There is a slight venous undertaste at work here and the bitterness of the hops and coffee are a touch too strong in the finish. Overall, tasty and rich, but quite sweet and a bit jagged in the aftertaste. MBlessing (1444) - Württemberg, GERMANY - OCT 8, 2017

Barwa czarna, piana na 1 centymetr, beżowa, gęsta.
Aromat to czekolada, praliny wiśniowe w whisky, trochę wanilii. Mega bogaty.
W smaku trochę czekolady, wiśnie w likierze, śliwka, lekka kawa. Pifko słodkie, lekko kwaśne z paloną goryczką. Alko totalnie schowane ( 17% )!!!. Mega aksamitne.
Super pifko. jonas (7985) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - OCT 4, 2017
Backlog rating from RBESG 2008, grand tasting: Black, creamy brown head. Roast nose. Very sweet entry, concentrated sugar, soy sauce, oily mouthfeel, sweet finish. Caramel aftertaste. Simply too sweet. popiela (955) - Poznañ, POLAND - SEP 21, 2017
Butelka 0,375l. Piękny wygląd. W aromacie wiśnie, śliwki, czekolada, kawa i wyraźny alkohol. W smaku mocna gorzka czekolada, suszone owoce, wysoka goryczka. Mocne rozgrzewanie. koleminer20 (3840) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 18, 2017
375 mL bottle. The pour is a nicer dark black with a thick tan head and a solid lace against the glass as it falls to a dense cap. The aroma is pretty complex. There is a creaminess about it and a strong chocolate. A bitter roast and a light caramel are present. A dark fruit kind of moves in late with a hint of smoke and a light alcohol. This is pretty intense. The flavor is really different. This is almost like a hugely bitter dark fruit medicine. There is a big time scorched malt and a heavy, heavy bitterness. The bitter is definitely a bit of a turn off here. The light chocolate and toffee finish is crazy. There is so much happening. The mouth feel is definitely thick and viscous, heavy bodied with a soft carbonation and a heavy, heavy bitterness on the back end. This almost had a perfect plate if it weren't so god damned bitter. Overall, this is a very intense beer. 7 4 6 4 14 zaax1 (18) - Wrocław, POLAND - SEP 13, 2017
Czarne z drobnopęcherzykową beżową pianą na jeden palec. W aromacie ciężki zapach ciemnej czekolady z odrobiną alkoholu w tle. Na drugim planie ciemne owoce. W smaku masa słodyczy, alkohol prawie niewyczuwalny - bardzo ułożone piwo. Kontra goryczkowa bardzo wyczuwalna. Fantastyczne piwo.
