Darkest of dark black pours. Insane thick lacing on the glass. This tastes like a rich stout with straight bourbon poured in. Crazy strong. Definitely a sipper.

Bottle from someone who caused just the tiniest bit of stress on the last night I hope I ever see them. Poured a syrupy pitch black body with a rather small faomy beige head. Aroma of heat, lots of alochol, burnt toast, charcoal, burnt dark fruits and dark cherries. Flavor of vanilla extract, burnt toast, caramel, molassess, alcohol, burnt wood. Good stuff here.

375ml bottle shared at dmac's dog fart infested basement filled with cougars and chaos! Pours a pitch black color with a small foamy mocha colored head. Big bourbon aroma, with notes of wood, caramel, and roasted malts. Taste of rich roasted coffee, burnt toast, bourbon, oak, leather, and a rich toffee and vanilla aftertaste. Solid stuff!

Westmeister (2129) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 26, 2013
375 bottle split between 10 folks and we didn’t even finish it on the first round. Someone did take the remainder straight the dome as the night worn on. Thick black pour with a actual head. Nose is lots of thick molasses, char, booze, soy sauce, bourbon. Flavor actually comes off a bit less hrash than I expected. I am glad we shared with so many folks as I think this is a beer not to be enjoyed in large quatities. However, I really did like my sampling. Taste shows more thick molasses, leather, soy sauce, big bourbon, a bit of char, sticky.

Bottle @ Armin’s apartment, courtesy of the ole rotbox. Pours a deep black appearance with a thin, light brown head. Really rich, spicy whiskey, fairly boozy, somewhat herbal smoky, very roasty aroma. Very very rich, goopy dark chocolate, toffee, boozy whiskey flavor with some dark fruity notes and a pretty boozy finish. Fucken thick and hot. Kind of enjoyable flavor but boy, this motherfucker is high boost.

arminjewell (9646) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Pour out of 375 mL bottle, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark cocoa, big bourbon, whiskey notes, hints of spice, slight brownie notes, slight cake, slight earthy notes. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, big booze, lots of oaky, whiskey, bourbon, nice brownie, cake notes, some spice, finishing bourbon, slight roast, lots of sweet dark fruits. Tasty but hot.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 37,5cl bottle at the after-tasting in the train on the way back home. i can’t understand why this beer get’s such ’low’ ratings!. poured dark black with a big chocolate look head. dark chocolate. caramel malts, vanilla, dark fruits like cherries. a lot of that oak taste. with a big bourbon hit!. somehow this version is a lot smoother en less boozy as the regular black version. this was such an incredible mouth feeling! the smoothness of the bourbon barrel has done it again! to bad it’s such an expensive beer but it’s worth every penny!! now I just need to try the new black fist version!!

after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - OCT 19, 2013
375, corked and capped. Pours jet black with a loose thin dark tan head. Big sharp vodka boozy nose. Earth and peat as well. Sticky thick body. Chocolate, peat, earth, molasses, white sugar, and vodka on the mid palate. Long earthy finish.

Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Pours a deep burnt umber with two fingers of khaki foam that sticks nicely. The nose is sweet werthers original candy, vanilla, boozy fig and traces of hmmm bourbon. The palate is quite the ride... sweet front end matching the nose but falls quickly into a charred dark chocolate and dark fruit mid to late palate the the booze heat creeps in on the long finish where some sweet notes creep back in. Nice lingering bourbon burn... definitely a great beer. Thanks from GODFROMANAL for hooking this up !

teddybeer (3782) - Madrid, SPAIN - AUG 24, 2013
Bottle. Black colour with a tan head that quickly diminishes. Aroma is roasted malts with mild hints of yeast and caramel, coffee, black chocolate and wood. In the mouth is dense with a light bitterness. Easy drinkable with sweet hints, barrels and roasted malts in a high presence. The final has a decent bitterness with a good duration, highly present coffee and black chocolate notes with a hidden alcoholic traces.
