Bottle shared by Jay at tasting at my house. Pours pitch black with brown head. Nose/taste of whiskey, roasted chocolate malt, burnt chocolate, oak, smoked wood and heavily smoked dark malt. Medium body. A bit boozy in finish, but not overpowering.

Nice brown fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet mineraly, dark malts, oak, mild bourbon, chocolate, dark sugar, bark, minerals, vanilla, booze, weeds. Taste is slightly sweet boozy, dark sugar, weeds, minerals, booze, oak, bark, bourbon, vanilla, paper, burnt sour coffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly watery and harsh boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Aroma is topnotch, very beautiful bourbon nose with roast. Taste is deep black roast with bourbon. This ages really well. Palate is grainy.

Bottle, five years before bbd. Pours pitch black, with a finger thick, creamy, mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts, with leather, burned wood, cocoa and muscovado and bourbon barrels. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is dark roasted malts, with liquorice, tobacco, muscovado and coffee, as well as bourbon barrels. Lingering dark roasted malts and muscovado notes in the finish.

Bottle at Viktoriagade. Pours an opaque black with a tiny beige head. Smells of licorice. Sweet and dry with aromas of toasted malts and caramel. Also notes of alcohol and a bourbon. Pours a very viscous-looking close to black body with a tiny, short-lived head. Sweet and intense aroma of dark roasted malt, dark caramel, chocolate, coffee, bourbon and liquorice. Intense flavour of alcohol, dark roasted malt, dark caramel, chocolate and coffee. Moderate to heavy sweet taste with a fairly heavy bitter and long-lasting finish. Full body, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice brew, but would it have been even better if the ABV had been lower?
