Pours extreme black with a good sized brown head. Aroma is coffee, burnt sugar, vanilla, wood, hops. Mouthfeel is creamy and slight oily. Taste is coffee, molasses, licorice, dates and a hint of dark chocolate. Reminiscent of a strong, syrupy sweet coffee. Dazz3 (1798) - Hallsberg, SWEDEN - SEP 19, 2011

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - SEP 16, 2011
All-black with a tiny, bubbly, beige film head. Aroma has fat liqourice, vinious, chocolate, light tar. Very low carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is vinious, light burning, lots of liqourice, dark chocolate, molasses. Quite a bit of sugary, sticky sweetness. Long, dry, malty finish - fairly dry even if the high sweetness lingers.

33 cl bottle into my De Molen snifter. Bought at Ølbutikken. Pours black with a red shine in the edges, a nice latté brown head that dissipates after a minute or so. Aroma starts somewhat hoppy and sweet. Chewy notes like molasses, brown syrup, chocolate and caramel. Then some more roasted notes of coffee and an ashy note. I’ve seen some people mention peat, and I actually get a small bit of that in the aroma. There are notes of alcohol and even cola. Though it’s still young, I really enjoy the aroma here. Taste is very sweet and chewy, syrupy caramel, raisins, chocolate. Roasted notes are there as well with liquorice, coffee and a burnt ashy note, too which makes it a bit rough. In the finish, the hops take over with a lot of bitterness, and the hop tastes like pine and citrus also come to show. My overall impression is that it’s young, a bit rough, though very sweet, bordering the cloying and on the bright side lots of good tastes going on, especially the nice sugary aspects like molasses and brown sugar. If you made it to the end of this beer review, congratulations. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - SEP 11, 2011

(Bottle) Pours super black with almost no head. The aroma is really citrusy hoppy and burned coffee roasted with vinous undertones of madeira and raisins. Whisper of tar, light smoke, wet tobacco and cigar smoke. The flavor is heavily sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic. Tones of citrus, sucralose, sweet liquorice, bit vinous, coffee, alcohol and light smoke. The mouthfeel is round and sticky with light carbonation. Lingering, super bitter and burned finish. Medium to full bodied. cryptobard (281) - DENMARK - SEP 8, 2011
From the bottle. Poured dark with hardly any head. Smokiness, roasted malts, citrus, and alcohol. A little chocolate too? Good stuff.
