Ampolla.

Bottled. Pitch black, no carbonation. Aroma of coffee and port. Very sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Sweet chocolate, black pepper and fudge. Port-like finish with evident heat from the alcohol. A velvetty smooth, but very sweet dessert beer.

Bottle. Pours pitch black without any head at all. Aroma is sweet with roasted malts and chocolate, as well as a whiff or two of tobacco. Full and creamy body, with no apparent carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts, grain, some dark fruits and molasses, as well as sugar and tobacco. Good brew, but no mind-blowing experience.

In short: A very harsh Imperial Stout. Disappointing.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed when approximately one year of age.
The look: Black body topped by a large tan head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is sweet, chocolaty, a bit minty and with some alcohol fumes, basically smells like those little digestive alcohol chocolate dessert pieces. Taste is heavy, lots of roasted barley (more roasted than expected), molasses, notes of port-wine, a sip of black coffee, roasted almonds., Alcohol is not well hidden and it borderline bothersome burning the side of the mouth after each sip. An overall harsh ‘greenness’ (only because of hebal hops?) that made for a rough finish. Not a fresh bottle by any means yet it felt too young, too rough, like it needed some more time to develop and settle down. Even the mouthfeel was harsh with grainy roast and prickly carbonation. Not up to usual Mikkeller standards, I had a hard-time finishing a single bottle. A beer named after an important character in the sacred Book Of Genesis, a book that makes no mention of Phil Collins.

Opaque black beer, small tan head. Rich palate, semi dry with mild carbonation. Sweet dark malt. Coffee that tastes like espresso with a couple of sugars. A little whisky wood. Whisper of red berry fruits underneath before more coffee in the smooth semi dry finish. Rich sweet RIS, tasty!

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Pours pitch black with brown and very big steady foam. Aroma is roasty, little burnt, chocolate, licorice, finnish salty licorice, herbs and little hop bitterness on background. Taste is chocolate sweet, salty licorice-like, little roasty. On the background is coffee and citrus. Palate is medium and quite bitter. All in all, very stable imperial stout, which has something special.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with no head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, hops, and a hint of booze. Flavour is chocolate, roasted malt, hops, and a little warming alcohol.
