glennmastrange (2957) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 2, 2018
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2018 Bottle. Moderate to heavy straw for the malt, light to moderate herbs and grass for the hops, moderate dried leaves, musty and leather for the yeast, with over ripe pear, starfruit, faint spices and sweetarts. Head is large, frothy, white, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky, muddy on the last pour, medium amber. Flavor starts moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, slick, with a fizzy carbonation. A pretty nice drinking and complex beer, and very Saison-ish, but doesn't have the heavy sourness of a Wild Ale

VertBaconStrips (2438) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - FEB 1, 2018
I've had this one for a while and just had to wait for that perfect weekday to crack it. Poured out a big, frothy bright white head that settled down in good time. Brew is a bit orangy with the slightest of haze. Pulled right out of the Beerium and into the glass. The bottle is now taking a quick sit in the freezer as I attempt to see the difference which I assume will be not as good as this temp. Succulent aroma greets my face holes. Warm, lime / pineapple, sweet cherries, I can imagine a slight melon or whatever (man, I really really need to get my tropical shit together), wet wild prairie grass, light funk. Dude - this aroma fucking takes off when it really warms - crazy fruit content gives a unique sensory dose of love. There is no way this will smell as good when I pull the chilled bottle. The taste is pretty spectacular as well with a dose of herbal hops, slight sourness, light pucker..... out of the warmed glass and on to a cold pour so let's reassess out position. The crazy aroma has vanished. It is crazy how different it is. It still breathes warm but although the fruits are there to find I note that the goodness is seriously subdued. So, with only a 5 minute glass sit this fragrance is back to amaze. This is spectacular tonight. This would never be as good on tap as there are way too many factors to distract the senses. Not much more to be said about the aroma that I didn't cover already. The flavour is excellent. Has a bit more of a drying effect now. Hay and a short lived tartness are more prevalent. The funk has arrived more now and I must note that the beer is still quite cold. This is one of the more mellow funk/sour beers I can recall in quite a while but, really, a sour footfest is severely trumped by an all around satisfaction. I wish I could recall what something like the all time epic USAlive was like but sometimes it's best to let beers ride off into the sunset. I'd like to say the same for this but it's January in Canada and we all know the sun sets at like 4pm or whatever. Incredibly drinkable in very very large quantities. No let down ever. Stupid random playlist just popped up a Raffi song (which I'm holding onto for sentimental reasons as the girls grow up) and within 4 seconds I skipped to the next song which just happened to have a slightly different feel: Murder Worship by Cannibal Corpse. This 8% will hit very soon. 750ml in 40 mins. I'm sure that salad I had for supper will do the trick. Oh god damn I'm a serious lightweight now. Every word needs a reread as the spelling is so bad that even a 4 or 5 letter word is questionable and has needed editing. Tomorrow is a write off. Who cares. 3.9 seems too low.
