On tap at Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Opaque black beer, small tan head. Quite a light palate, fairly dry with fine carbonation. Rich coffee, not bitter. A little lacto creamy sweetness. Minerals. Good hop in the backend. Dark chocolate. Some roast and hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Well joined up and something of a cracker.

Keg at CPK, London, thanks to Thomas. Pours murky black, oily with a small, tan head. Lots of cocoa, light yeast, dark chocolate on the nose. Light sweet flavor, tons of mocha, filter coffee, baking cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, tons of baking cocoa, slight wood, some earthy bitterness. Solid beer.

Tap, Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 21/09/11. Filthy pitch with a solid tan collar lacing intricately. Soapy hop, liquorice, Neopolitan aroma. Dominant burnt fennel seed, aniseed character, some smouldering rye bread, Black Jacks, not much double shit going on. Good torched barley notes. Very pleasant but heavily confectionary accented.

lusikka (7813) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 8, 2011
Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beige head. Aroma of extremely strong, dark, roasted coffee - very delicious. Flavour of strong roasted malts, dark coffee, milk chocolate and vanilla. Full bodied, very smooth mouthfeel and a long, mouth-drying coffee finish with loads of roastiness. Im a coffee addict and this was just excellent.

Tap @ Beer Temple. Pours pitch black with a great creamy brown head leaving lots of lace. Aroma is lots of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, a bit fruity and bready. Flavor is velvety lean, has some vanilla tones, acidy, ashy and pretty much like the the aroma. Finisges with a great roasted longlived bitter aftertaste.

Keg at CP&K. It pours opaque black, with a decent light tan head. The nose is aniseed, menthol, big roasted malt and coffee. The taste is very, very roasty, charcoal, toast, rich coffee, starch, smoke, aniseed, menthol, light caramel and tar, with a very long dry finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Very savoury. Decent.
