Dimmig bärnstensfärgad öl med ett gräddigt smutsvitt skum. Doften är fruktig med inslag av vinbärsblad och kryddig jäst. Smaken domineras av jästsmakerna och bitter mandelmassa.

14th June 2016: Shrewsbury Beer Share, think Mat brought it. Hazy orange/brown with a beige topping. Malts lead the way in both the nose and taste, fruity notes abound within the malty molasses and give a ’fruit pie’ feel to the flavours. Liked it.

330ml brown bottle poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is hazy brownish orange with a large beige head. Aroma and flavours of figs, caramel, bread, banana, brown sugar and dates. Taste is medium-heavy sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-full bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Overall this is not a bad interpretation of Belgian style beer, flavour profile closer to Belgian Strong ales.

33cl bottle. Hazy orange brown with a spongy/porous dirt white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, apricot jam, red apples and strawberries and earthy barnyard brett. Taste is sweet caramel, orangepeel, apricot, apples, hints of strawberries, licorice and woody brett. Spicy dry hoppy bitter finish. Medium body, soft carb, oily to dry texture. It’s quite nice. Still have to try it next to Orval though.

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours lightly hazy amber with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy fruits, bready, fruit cake, pear, tart tatin, toffee and cake. The taste is bitter, earthy, brown bread, cereal, toasted grain, light apice and a touch of alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Decent enough, but not standout.

Bottle shared at the Watford tasting, many thanks to me. From brewdog online. A bright golden orange with a lively frothy off white head. Aroma is funky, bretty, cola, quite like Orval. Flavour is composed, woody dry grains, straw, cola, bretty, horsey. Palate is crisp and dry, highish carbonation, spritzy carbonation. Decent imitation.

Bottle shared in Watford - many thanks to Fergus! Pours clear gold with a big, frothy off-white head. Citric aroma, with light funk, a little wood, orange peel. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of rindy citrus, woody dryness, a bit of grain, melon. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Dry and fairly bitter, with further citrus peel, grainy bread. Enjoyable beer.

33cl bottle at home. Clear amber with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Subtle sour, sweet and bitter tones. Citrus, tart, green apples, malts, sweet fruits and herbs. Quite OK.
