Bottle split at my 40th bash in Londres, thanks to an IP trade with Christian, 11/10/14.
Murky chestnut brown with moderate beige edgeing.
Nose is wood fire, raisnes, smoked malt, dark fruit, nutty.
Taste comprises smoked malt, rich dark fruits, roasted tones, smoked meats, tar, faint toffee.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Solid smoked affair, has held up well and drinks well below ABV, although this has likely dropped away a little. mR_fr0g (12599) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 11, 2014

Bottle from Yespr. Drank in Avenue Hotel in CPH. Aromatic nose of smoke, wood, chocolate, soy sauce, touch of fruit. Dark brown with a lacy head, bubbles. Sweet chocolate first in the mouth, with cola, fruit, maybe orange, smoke, woody barrel. This has held upnamazingly well. Still fresh and spritzy. Smoke isnprobably less than before, but great wood flavors, chocolate, fruits, honey. Not very heavy, silky and peppery carbonation. Finish has bitter hops, roast malt, smoke, and wood. Excellent and very interesting. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Nip bottle, BB 12/31/12. Poured rich reddish-amber with a short, but easily-resuscitated beige head. The aroma picked up a hefty dose of campfire smoked very well integrated with darker fruits and honey.. some peppery notes around the nose.. vinous character right on the back.. loved it! The favor found tangy oak and smoke on the tip of the tongue, with honey, biscuity notes, and licorice following.. smoked malt again played well with the other components, and it gave a find grand finale (paired with a bit of barrel).. sweet and smoky on the finish, leaving excellent belly warmth. Heavier-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. felt good. Loved it! GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 21, 2013
250mL thanks to CaptainCougar as a very generous gift for my wedding slash going away present (in addition to other wale beers). Pours a clearish, murky brown. Fizzing out tan head. No retention or lace. Low carbonation. Bottle did pop with some carbonation. Nose brings out toffee, red apple, moderate sausage, applewood smoke, thicker honey, then moves to some heavy black olive, tapenade, green olive and pimento, mild red apple oxidation. At certain points something like sharp brandy is most prominent. Taste is tangy, very papery, moderate honey sweetness. Palate is a bit syrupy, moderate ash. Overall interesting, but over the hill. My refuse-to-rate-beer-so-help-me-god fiance says it was pretty good, lots of tobacco in finish. Aroma has some smoke but also a lot of sugar. Finishes sweet, a bit cloying. Stickier mouthfeel. biggirlpanties: 3.2
