The aroma is very complex; I was ready for that. It takes a few sniffs to get everything that is going on. Smells of oak, bourbon, light raisin, fig. Not as strong of a coffee aroma as one would expect. Dark chocolate undertones in the scent. Expensive dark chocolate, not artificial like in some beers. Some booze, not much. Black in color with a medium tan head. Leaves heavy lacing on the glass. Great looking stout. Taste is pleasant coffee, not overpowering. Hop bitterness comes through after the coffee. Flavor is not nearly as complex as the aroma. Surprisingly watery in texture - I was really expecting a richer palate. I can see why they say it goes well with breakfast. A stronger beer would be too much for the morning. Being that I never drink beer for breakfast, I really have no use for this. The palate is disappointing, it’s very expensive and the flavor doesn’t give you much besides coffee and hops. It’s not bad, but no way should it be 100 points. Perhaps I am biased because I like big, bold, rich stouts, and this is not one of those. For the price and reputation, I was expecting to be blown away. Right off the top of my head, I can think of 5 stouts I like better than this.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a very dark brown with a small beige head and an aroma of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, ripe banana, maple syrup and burnt sugar. The taste is medium to heavy sweet with lots of hops in the finish. Nice.

0,33 l bottle. Pours almost black with a finger of brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and a hint of smoke. Flavor is coffee and bitter chocolate. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter and very light umami (some smoked malt maybe). Body is quite full, texture is smooth and creamy, carbonation soft. Finish is long, more coffee, more bitter chocolate with gentle light bitterness.

Not as good as I expected. Its not imp stout but I wanted more. The art of stout is to drink stout but to get feeling of imperial stout. Stout version is not an watery version of imperial stout. I dont like hops in stout, as i said many times - its not IPA !!! And for me, this beer is boozy, bitter... and like black ipa. Not balanced. Too heavy for just stout with such abv. Weak in aroma.

Bottle date: 22/08/2016. Zwart/donkerbruin, bruine enorme schuimkraag, heel veel koolzuur.

Piwo absolutnie czarne, smoliste, piana ok. Aromat - bardzo dużo kawy i zbóż, sporo paloności, bardzo intensywny. Smak - gęste, gładkie (choć po otwarciu było szczypiąco nagazowane), alkohol niewyczuwalny, goryczka bardzo intensywna, 50-50 palona i chmielowa, lekka nuta kawy, sporo czekolady. Posmak ekstremalnie długi, leśny i żywiczny. Goryczka zaskakująco intensywna, dominuje na resztą piwa, szczególnie w posmaku. Nie jest to chocobomba ale nadal pierwszej klasy stout!

exceptional - the oat on the aroma with a backdrop of cascade deadens the senses before bang, a smooth chocolaty burst with none of that harsh dryness backdrop on the pallet - close to perfect and very enjoyable in small sips

0.33 bottle bought and drink at Majstor za pivo, Belgrade, Serbia. Shared with Višnja 666! Thanks! Very dark brown to black, lasting tan head. Coffee, dark malts, light cocoa, and light soy sauce. Dry and roasty, very coffee-ish. The texture is coffee-like silky, light to medium body, moderate carbonation, alcohol is hidden, lasting dry finish. Good beer, a true example of the style.
