(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 3 Oct 2014) Black colour with brief head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, cacao, liquorice, oak wood and mild hints of calvados. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, liquorice, salmiak, cacao, soy sauce, oak wood and gentle flavours of calvados. Full body, with a touch of sweetness, but actually drier than expected. Botella de 25 cl de 2 d2dspuma en el momento el 28-11-2014. color negro intenso con espuma oscura casi inexistente. Aromas intensos de maltas tostadas con abundante dosis de café y toques de licor. Algo de cacao y ligero amargo final. Sabores también intensos de maltas tostadas, café y cacao con dosis de licor fresco de calvados. Final ligero amargo seco que se va acentuando según calienta. Black colored, brown head. Vanilla, woody, sweet, hazelnut type aroma. Flavor has licorice., alcohol, wood, vanilla, dark chocolate. Smooth stuff. Oily. Enjoy warm. Awesome but I expected more of course.
"Another frikkin awesome beer with the weasel poo!!! I’m SO glad they started giving Brunch Weasel (one of my favorites) the various barrel treatments. they aren’t better, per se, than the base, but gives me more reasons to drink this, and they have all been epic so far. i wouldnt have thought apple brandy and imperial coffee stout would be so good together, but i was wrong. sweet, luscious, decadent...just enough roast and bitter to balance. wonderful beer in every way! "

8.5oz bottle at least a year old. Pours black with a ring of a tan head. Aroma is huge. Slightly tart notes of dark chocolate, coffee, barrel, and dark fruit. Awesome! Taste is a slight tart with dark chocolate, coffee, booze, barrel notes, and a warm, alcohol after feeling. Full body with a low-medium carbonation. Not as full of a mouth feel but very very smooth and silky. Overall awesome. Thinner mouth feel than the base but sliky smooth. Big barrel and booze notes. 25cl bottle at home. poured a dark black colour with a small bubbling tanned head. dark chocolate, strong bitter coffee, espresso, fruity apples, ripe fruits, raisins, oak, some hint of smoke. very thick and full bodied mouthfeel. roast, hints of alcohol, calvados. wow big notice of the calvados barrel. for me the calvados aging on this one is way better as the george. outstanding beer! could sip this every evening patricks110 (2787) - Alberta, CANADA - JUL 7, 2014
A very interesting little brew with a punch and tons of aged barrel flavour. The pour is a gloopy pure black with a thin tan head that subsides quickly. The nose has big, boisterous roasted characters including espresso and bitter chocolate. The barrel aging lends mild woody and earthen characters to the aroma as well as slightly sweet and fruity flavours in the middle. Small bottle. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas and flavors are just as excellent as the base brunch with a little more fruit but a tad more alcohol and drier finish. I need a cellar of this stuff.
