Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, coffee, soy sauce, roasted malt. The flavor is powerful with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, wood, coffee, and caramel, leading to a dry, alcoholic, and roasted finish. Can’t pick up the cognac, just as the warming alcohol feeling you also get cognac. joergen (28106) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 25, 2012

Bottled. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, sweet stinging notes of cognac with some mild coffee and roasted notes. Flavour is quite much the same. The cognac and alcohol makes it rather too much stinging sweet. omhper (25108) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2016
Bottled at The Rover, Göteborg. Black, small beige head. Cognac, coffee and some oil. Sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Coffee, oil, black pepper. Warming finish. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 28, 2012
Bottle 25 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours black and opaque with a small and creamy light brown head. The Cognac completely dominates the aroma and even manages to overpower the thick roasty malts. Rich body, the hard roast malts come through now combined with licorice ad dried dark fruits and again these plesantly smooth Cognac notes leaving quite some heat. The coffee has mellowed out though. Some roasty bitterness. A nice experience indeed. 240212 madmitch76 (24791) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2013

Opaque black - brown beer. Tidy tan head. Smooth dark malt nose with a little wet wood. Smooth palate, mild carbonation and semi dry. Rich dark malt and rich coffee. Malt cream and unsweet wood. Mellow cognac. Finishes semi dry with dark chocolate dominating. Great rich brew!
Bottles courtesy of Beerandblues2, thank you sir! Very dark maroon, small brown head. Aroma of coffee and very subtle creosote. Taste is slightly boozy chocolate, coffee. The barrel does nothing for the base beer, which is a near perfect beer in itself.
