Tap at mikkeller and friends, copenhagen. Black color, dark brown head. It’s thickest beer ever seen. Aroma has rich roasty notes, licorice, whiskey, wood. Thickest body ever tasted, it’s like kisel. Pours dark black with a thin dark Brown head. Intense whisky aromas with licorice, light peat and smoke. Low carbonation, round body, great whisky presence, ashy, lots of coffee, really silky palate. UPDATED: APR 7, 2016 Pours a dark brown with a small brown head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of peaty Islay, iodine. Taste is of smoke, scotch, light chocolate. Not too sweet or boozy, just perfect. Some grapiness. Body is medium-full and carbonation soft. There is some alcohol warmth for sure but it almost never feels hot. Lightly sticky. A solid Islay-BA imperial stout, I need more of that! This serie never fails to impress!

Follows through a medium bodied palate with a warmth whiskyish oak barrel dark bitter chocolate, peated, chocolate, roasted, black, toasted, oat malty, coffee, brownie, fruity yeast character. pours almost oily black with a nice light beige cap, reviving and leaving nice lacing. iodine, peat, iron molasses, oak wood, red wine, minerals, smooth chocolate, smoky and spicy red berries, clean yeast. low carbonation, medium to full body - very oily; sweet and prated-mineral finish. very solid smoky BA stout. Pours jet black with a finger of tan head. Aroma of rich chocolate, coffee, caramel smoke & oak. Taste hits you with the sweetness of the stout, then bam smoke, char and ash from the Islay barrel. Quite intense. As it fades the coffee and roasted dark malts rear their heads and it finishes with some hop bitterness. Thick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Viscous dark brown body with a filmy beige collar. Grandiose aroma of peat, scotch, with some chocolate and a. Islay scotches are my favorite of the single malts and this certainly translates to this beer. Silky smooth body and loaded with delicious flavor. Mm hmm. Black body, with a small, dense, dark coffee-colored head.
Aroma of dark chocolate, barrel, whisky, molasses, liquorice, tobacco, some coffee, some dark fruits.
Tastes of whisky, peat, tobacco, cocoa powder, coffee, some liquorice, some alcohol.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes roasty, dry, astringent, a bit alcoholic, with tobacco, peat, cocoa, coffee, some smoke.
I don’t like peat notes too much, but they aren’t too dominant here, so still enjoyable for me. Quite smooth to drink for the ABV and well balanced, with enough sweet and roasty notes and a pleasantly dry finish. Overall not a bad beer at all, but my least favourite barrel aged Brunch Weasel variant.
