Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Poured in tulip from bottle. Pours a dark chocolate almost black with a very thin cream head. The aroma is burnt espresso with hints of mocha which comes through in the taste. Like a warm chocolate milk, shockingly thin mouth feel for as dark it is. But overall a very good beer, not sure if it is better then non-weasel version. (also all the poop jokes made while drinking)

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 ABV - 10.9 .Appearance: Jet black, with a thick tan head that surprisingly lingers for sometime. Very appealing beer. .Aroma: Strong scent of sweet dark fruits, raisins. Licorice, bittersweet chocolate, caramel. Subtle notes of coffee, not nearly as much as I'd expect considering the commercial description. Still a very pleasant aroma on this beer. .Taste: Sweet dark fruit, chocolate, nice roasted flavor. Some hints of coffee and caramel. Very enjoyable finish, aftertaste is slightly bitter. Awesome. Alcohol is well hidden as well. .Mouthfeel: Thick, chewy, creamy, rich. Full bodied yet easy to drink. .Overall: A. .Well balanced imperial stout, nice combination of aromas and flavors. Mouthfeel is very enhancing, rich and velvety. Only knock - if your going to have 'one of the worlds most expensive coffees' as an adjunct, it should be the focal point of the experience. Not much of that coming through, at all. Still, top notch.

Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, light roasted malts and sweet caramel sugar with some alcohol fumes lingering beneath. While drinking you can't decide if you're more impressed by the superb oily mouthfeel or the intense and really well balanced taste of coffee/malt/oat/chocolate with some fruity notes on top. The alcohol is noticable but well hidden for the high abv. Great brew that makes you addicted instantly.

Butelka. Kwaskowate, jakby torfy jakie, aż tak skrzypi w zębach. Bardzo wytrawny, ściągający aftertaste. Lukrecja, takie jakieś przyprawy. Jakby brakowało ciała. Mało wysycone. Zero alkoholu.

oberschlesier (186) - Kattowitz, UPPER SILESIA, - NOV 9, 2017
Aroma: coffee, bit of alc., dark chololate, bit of soy sauce (fine oxidation, don't disturb).
Taste: classic, delicate RIS with coffee. Bit ashy, bit alcoholic.
Weak head, average to high carbonation in this style.

11.2floz bottle, dating code on cap?? "BF 13/05/26" - BBD? 05.13.2026? $9, large tulip glass. It's near black in color with a thin head that recedes to a ring. Aroma is like what a dark chocolate infused coffee liquor would smell. Deep, velvety palate of semi-sweet chocolate, toffee, and mild coffee flavors. Very good beer.

Many thanks for this fantastic beer to JefVerstraete. Barwa piwa to czern totalna. Smoliste, oleiste, przypominalo mi portery Harviestoun. Zapach fantastyczny. kawa, puding czekoladowy, trufle i goraca czekolada. Caly czas ta kawa i rumowy alkohol w tle. Doskonale rozgrzewa w 2 fazie. Serwowane z deska serow hiszpanskich: Don Bernardo, El Ventero, Gran Capitan Curado i Semicurado. Ofcourse for free Catalonia

Prawie czarne piwo, nieprzezroczyste. Piana niezbyt duża i dość szybko znika. Aromat i smak fantastyczny. Dominuje kawa i to najlepszych gatunków, potem czekolada, kakao. W tle nuty palone. Wyśmienite piwo

2017/10/08 - Pours jet black with a large, frothy tan head that slowly reduces and leaves moderate, sticky lacing. Aroma is dark cocoa, licorice and lots of toasty, roasted dark coffee. Taste is more bitter cocoa, ash, lots of toasted coffee and a hint of booze. Mouthfeel is silky with creamy carbonation and a long, toasted, lightly warming finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oh, excellent coffee. Good texture. Many layers of taste - as for me, dark chocolate, oats, cream and good tasteful coffee.
