COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

I love the aroma of this beer. You can smell it as soon as it pours out of the bottle. Strong, yet pleasant. I detected roasted malts, light cappuccino, some booze, raisin, fig and licorice. Complex but just subdued enough. It also looks great. Black with a small bubbly dark tan head. Leaves sticky lacing on the glass. Tastes of gourmet coffee, some dark chocolate and just enough booze. The hop bitterness comes through in the aftertaste and effectively balances the sweetness. The palate is full and slick with a great finish that hangs on until the next sip. This is a great beer. I was ready to be disappointed due to the cost and hype that surrounds it but I really can’t find a flaw. My advice is to skip the Beer Geek Breakfast and go straight for this one. It is much better.

Wow!!! This is absolutely delcious & a must try even at the $11 price point. Pours black w/ a razor thin mocha head & little lacing. The aroma is mostly sweet w/ a robust amount of chocolate coming through. The taste contains chocolate, booze, & mild coffee flavor. It’s very well balanced between sweet & bitter. It has a medium mouthfeel making me want to drink this fast! Complex & a complete masterpiece! Awesome!!

Pours black from the bottle. Tan, frothy head that lingers. Aroma is full of roasted notes, coffee grounds, lots of plum. Taste mildly bitter, lots of coffee, turning increasingly sour at finish. Body is thick, rich and full. Good, but like most beers of this style that are ladened with coffee additives, it is really only enjoyable in modest quantities. Well made for what it is.

330ml bottle @ home while watching Game of Thrones Season 7 episode one. Pours an opaque black with a thick almost creamy brown head. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, and hints of dark fruits. Flavour is delicious. It is somewhat sweet, with a nice balance between roast, coffee, and chocolate. There is a light bitterness that lingers in the background with a nice dark fruity character. I think my glass has a hole in it, cuz I managed to drink through this too quickly despite sipping.

Do szkła nalewa się czarne, nieprzejrzyste piwo. Piana powstaje z trudnością i szybko całkowicie zanika. Aromat jest intensywny. Dominuje słodkie kakao i słodka czekolada. Kawa jest raczej na drugim planie, bardziej przypomina samo ziarno niż napój. W tle delikatna nut palona. W smaku piwo jest pełne i wyraźnie palone. Gorzka czekolada i słodzona kawa dalej gorzkie kakao i nuty palone. Finisz bardzo długi i przyjemny. Alkohol przyjemnie rozgrzewa przełyk.

W aromacie świetna kawa, praliny, kokos i wanilia. W smaku jest sporo kawy, z może delikatnie za dużą goryczką, poza tym mnóstwo pralin, taka zajebista czekoladka.
