Bottle. This is the newest in the breakfast stout series from Mikkeller. Black as night pour. Huge dark head with crater formation, insane white thick lacing. Aromas is lucious hops, dark chocolate, vanilla, syrup. Taste is roasted coffee with some oatmeal, chocolate, dark plums, and fruit profile from the hops. Silky smooth mouthfeel. I prefer the weasel but this is in my top three breakfast stouts from Mikkeller.

Pours pitch black with strong coffee nose. Nice palate coating brew. Coffee and some black licorice flavors. Really good.

Dark black with white head. Hoppy citrusy aroma. Coffee, roasted malts, hops. An IPA combined with stout. Nice.

500 ml bottle. Notes of chocolate, coffee, earthy, and a sweet malt. The coffee is smooth and not spicy like in most coffee beers. There is a very slight tartness I think it is from the hops. This is a great mix of hops, coffee, and oatmeal stout. A great beer.

Bottle, 13C. Black with a tan head that fades to a coat. Aroma of grapefruit, coffee, pine, light roast. Silky mouthfeel. Taste has sweet singed sugars, coffee, citrus and pine. Bitter and somewhat astringent at the end. Interesting - the citrus and pine flavours are ones that I usually find clash with roasted ones, but they dovetail relatively effectively here (for me). The hops still obscure some of the charm of the malt but the coffee shines right on through. Some licorice in the long bitter finish. This is very artfully put together... but I still wish the hops were different.

Black in color. Mocha-colored head that descipated rather quickly. Spotty lacing. Nutty aroma. Also the aroma of vanilla, chocolate and a hint of coffee teases the nose. The texture is slick with a medium body. I like the balance of the hops and the coffee. The finish is a very strong coffee taste that sticks with you well after the drink. I really like the way this beer was put together. Another Mikkeller that impressed me.

Bottle from Theatre of Wine, Greenwich. Black pour with a tan head. Smoke, tobacco, caramel, creamy coffee and vanilla aroma. Dark roast coffee flavour with a light hop tang with a hint of vanilla. Smoky, bitter-roast finish. Tasty.

A black beer with a medium, decreasing, brown head. Aroma is complex, unique and enjoyable, sweet chocolate, milky sourness, roastiness and citrusfruity hoppyness. Taste is roasted and enjoyable chocolate, coffee and the grapefruity and citrusfruity, refreshning hoppyness last into long aftertaste. Medium bodied, slippery and nice to drink. Interesting beer, dark flavours succesfully meets the fresh citrusfruits.

bottle: pitch black pour with frothy tan head. Light roast on the nose and piney. Palate is sweet caramel, but just completely dominated with hops you lose some of the stout character. But as it warms up, the sweet side comes out. Got plenty of dark chocolate, black strap molasses and coffee roast. grassy finish, herbal. full bodied and warming.

From bottle to English pint. Pours a dark brown/black with a nice thick mocha head. Smells of roasted malts and coffee. Tastes of coffee and dark chocolate finishing with an espresso sour bitterness. Overall very good, a must try for black coffee lovers.
