Bottle split with mcberko. Pours a solid cloudy black with a tan head. Aroma of wood, light smoke, earth, roasted malts, espresso, hops. Flavour of bitter, burnt wood, smoky, hops. Quite earthy, very dark roasted coffee, raw chocolate, very dark flavours. Unusual mixture of hops with regular stout characteristics, but they compliment each other nicely. Harsh on the palate, but interesting.

500mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours black with a medium, lingering light brown head. Aroma is loaded with hops, with dense woody and roasted notes. Flavour is intensely roasted and uncompromisingly hoppy, but in total balance, with undertones of coffee and oatmeal. Silky, smooth palate, with a highly roasted and intensely hoppy finish. The hop bitterness is quite astringent after a while, detracting from the other flavours present. Excellent, however.

Pitch black body with a small brown head. Awsome aroma of coffee and chocolate. Taste has coffee, dark chocolate, cereal and a great bitter finish that I find very balanced. Amazing.

Thanks Armando629! A legvge olyan, mintha frissen prklt kvszemeket ropogtatnnk a fogaink kztt. Nehz, sűrű teste van s olajosan folyik, kevske apr buborkkal van elltva. Utze, olyan, mintha tlsttt pirts hjat rgcslnnk, igen szraz s kiss gymlcss. Igazn klnleges s finom stout ez, ami inkbb hasonlt egy megkvzott stt IPA-re. Nem "kezdőknek" val, igazi unikum!

Bottle purchased at "The Village Beer Market" in Buffalo. Pours a dark, dark, dark, man this is dark beer. Huge tan head (about three fingers hight) that settles down to a thin layer, lots of spotty lacing here and there, and spots of residual sugar on the glass walls. Aroma is sweet and of fruit of the hop (LOL), but you then get that malty chocolate as well as coffee and some minor amounts of hops. Taste is fantastic, dark chocolate, oats, coffee, maltiness. Nice mouth feel, simply put its good stuff. I wanna try it for breakfast now.

Right down my alley with a steady strong bitterness of hops and dark chocolate mixed well with roasted malts. It reminds me of Hoppin Frog DORIS with its heavy hop profile, but with a slightly thinner body. Overall, an excellent, complex beer that gets much better as it warms.

Pours pitch black with a huge head that looks like coffee ice cream...amazing retention and lacing. Aroma is extremely roasty with sweet dark chocolate, espresso, and maybe a hint of smoke?...subtle citrus. Flavor is similar...so roasty! Also some subtle but very resinous citrus at the end...floral! Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and thick with a long dry roasted finish. Very unique...so roasty but with an obvious very fresh hop flavor to balance it out...awesome.

Bottle, courtesy GT2. Pour is black with an impressive tan head, good lacing. Aroma is hops, chocolate, coffee. Taste is very hoppy with dark chocolate, bitter coffee. Actually quite nice. Palate is quite soft, bitter, easy to drink.

500mL. Probably should be moved to the Black IPA category. The pour is a deep brune looking black with a healthy, larger, tan head erupting with marshmallow creme density and large webby lacing. Nose is hop forward with apple cinnamon butter, pine, waxy dark chocolate, raspberry truffle, citrus bitters, noticeable grapefruit hoppiness. Taste is waxy dark chocolate, bitter cocoa, raspberry truffle. Palate is wickedly soft, medium to light bodied, with mild lactic tartness in the finish. Really nice.
