Bottle. Pour is almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma is bursting with roasted malt and fresh hop. Also notes of coffee, ash, and faint burnt brown sugar. Smells a lot like very fresh Night Stalker. Flavor is a bit different. Loads of coffee up front with roasted malt and fresh resinous hops more of a background. Solid for sure. The coffee is clean; not burnt. Nice.

Bottle from Voldby. Nice tan head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich hops, flowers, roast malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Nice bitter finish.

Bottle. Heavy nice beer geek breakfast, but the hops gets a bit to much and bitter in the long run.

bottle from pearl street bev, vt shared with seb A: initially roasty/ coffee then caramel with some piney / citrusy note from the hops. It’s more on the malt than hops. App: pitch black with lasting beige head. T/P: body is full finish being bitter and long. Carbonation is average. O: Excellent love the malts on that one really classy and sexy. Nice find will like to have again.

Great Oatmeal stout. It has the characteristics of a good Cascadian Dark Ale (CDA) due to its introduction of slight hops to the dark brown/black smooth roasted body

The aroma has a tinge of coffee. This beer pours a deep/dark color with minimal head retention and some visible lacing. Thin on the palate, very drinkable and very present hop character for a stout. Nice beer!

italianjohn (3261) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Black pour thin nice layer of tan head very light sticky lacing .... aroma of piney hops and fresh roasted coffee split right down the middle oily citrusy hops .... taste is of bitter roasted coffee and citrusy hop oils a little piney .... very bitter long linger roasted flavors follow and a hoppy bite ..... mouthfeel is very oily and roasted .... abv hidden well

50cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium brown head. Long lasting foam. Aroma is more on the IPA side with pine, resin, wood and smoke. Taste is more on the Stout side with lots of roasted notes, wood, smoke, licorice and some hoppy pine and resin. Thick mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Overall, a nice brew, but not as balanced as some other in the style: aroma of IPA with taste of Stout. Still worth the try to me.

reebtogi (6392) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2011
500ml bottle pours black in color with about 2 fingers of light brown head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malts and a trace of aromatic hops. Taste is bold dark roasted malty bitterness balanced with some light malty sweetness and finishing with a bold spicy hop bitterness. A lovely stout with a bunch of hops added for an extra kick. Very interesting.
