From bottle - completely opaque with a tan head. Aromas of rich roast coffee and tempered hop oils - suspect as I’d accidentally kept this for a while after purchase, the hops were less pronounced than if I’d had it fresh. But they didn’t jar against the roasty aromas/flavours and melded well. Very silky mouthfeel and lovely long smooth finish with a gentle bitterness. Actually works very well as a breakfast/brunch beer!

Tap at Warsaw Beer Festival. Disappointing a bit. Coffe beans (going into the direction of red kidney beans), spruce, liquorice, quite bitter. Meh.

Czarne piwo nieźle się prezentuje. Aromat kawowy, chmiel, zapach lasu iglastego. W smaku kawa, żywica, trochę cytrusów. Niezłe

Pallleon (433) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 7, 2017

Towey1989 (3162) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2017
Bottle from Otters Tears, Burslem. Pours a deep brown colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of marshmallow, roasted malts, some coffee, slight caramel, a hint of dark fruits and subtle spicy citrus. Taste of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, some marshmallow, slight chocolate, a little pine, a hint of dark fruits and subtle spicy citrus. Medium bodied, thick texture and moderate carbonation. A long, dryish, roasted coffee bitterness in the finish. More like a stout than a black IPA, subtle hoppiness but mainly roastiness. Great body when warmed a little with some sweet marshmallow and caramel coming through. Superb as a stout but average as a BIPA. Thoroughly enjoyed overall though.

Tap (One More Beer Festival 2017, Kraków). Piana obfita, beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, redukuje się do warstwy, koronkowanie przeciętne. Barwa brunatna. Aromat średnio intensywny, cytrusy, kawa zbożowa, tropiki. Goryczka średnia minus. W smaku gorzka czekolada, paloność. Pełnia średnia, nasycenie średnie minus.

33 cl. bottle. A black beer with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, hops, caramel, chocolate, coffee and with a bitter finish.

PabloZab (1657) - Wroclaw, POLAND - AUG 14, 2017
Bottle 330ml (BB 10.10.2026). Completely black with big, beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is combination of roasty notes characteristic for stout and citrus, hoppy notes characteristic for IPA. There is also hint of chocolate. Roasty, a little bit chocolate, dry in taste with delicate resin bitterness, intense but short with subtle sweetness in aftertaste. Beer is smooth, medium carbonated, medium body but quite light in feeling with completely hidden alcohol. Very tasty black IPA but for me the bitterness could be much higher.
