12.7oz bottle picked up at WLV poured into my Rodenbach Grand Cru glass... Pours a medium brown with lots of brick notes, medium clarity. A huge light tan head rises up to fill half the glass, great retention and lacing. Uglyish body hurts a great head here... The aroma is awesome, the beer is extremely malty with tons caramel, whopper malt, some oak, and a light red wine finish. This is outstanding except for the finish turns a bit fruity which doesn’t go with this... The taste is a let down compared to the fantastic nose, the maltyness is mostly gone replaced with more oak, a touch of sour and red wine. The finish is really flat with oak, alcohol, and a hint of hops. Really really disappointing.

Bottled. Pours a hazy amber with a little off-white head, fair lacngs..Fruity nose with caramel and vanilla.. Sweet flavor with dried fruits, vanilla ane red wine notes. Bottle, 375ml. A big, dense, off-white head leaves lacings as the hazy, dark amber beer leaves the glass. Wine, alcohol, wood, piney hops, some beef stock, caramel and dried fruits in the aroma. Lightly warming on the palate, full-bodied and softly carbonated, with some chocolate, as well as coffee, dried fruits and resiny, flour-ish hops. Alcohol too. Lasting finish with a nice bitterness. Draft at Beer Temple. Pours amber brown with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, malts, vinous, dark fruits, a little wood and booze. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle… Farewell to ibrew2or3… Hazy burnt-orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. The bouquet is a malty, vinous marriage of caramel, ethanol and toasted oak with a kiss of Cabernet. Full-bodied and velvety with soft carbonation. 375 ml green bottle poured a cloudy reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromasof toffee, coconut, plum, raisin, red wine, light carmel and light oak. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry warming finish. Flavors of toffee, red wine, oak, plum, light raisin and light pepper with a crisp dry warming lingering vinous finish. The beer pours a brown color with a tan head. The aroma is full of red wine and oak notes, as well as some toffee and brown sugar. The flavor is very similar. I get a lot of molasses and fruity red wine notes, as well as some oak, maple, vanilla and the alcohol you would expect in a beer that clocks in at 12 percent. Flavor is dry (tannines), red wine, a bit sweet, a bit vinous sour. Alcohol is warming. Medium bodied. Long finish with red wine, dry, bit roasted, bitter. Barrel aging could have been a bit shorter...
