Reddish pour at the FW fest. Off white head. Aroma is loaded with sticky malts, light tartness from the wine barrels, some boozey notes and a wisp of hops. Flavor is all over the place, in a good way! Red wine, booze, oak, caramel, toffee, sweet bready yeasty goodness. Leighton (22054) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 10, 2012
Keg at Craft Beer Co., London. Pours at first murky red-brown but it clears into a lovely, translucent ruby with a fine, off-white head. The nose holds aged malts, light caramel, berries, nice dark wood. big sweet flavor, good dry wood and vinous character, ripe berries, subtle alcohol, rich oak. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, very dry with tons of dry wood, medium sweetness, well toasted malts, mild brown sugar and soft caramel. Great dry, vinous character throughout, not overly sweet. Great. punkska101 (2136) - Chambly, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 2, 2012

Bottle @ ZZT VII, thx to everyone for sharing their bottles. Lovely complex nose of caramel malt, raisin, red fruit. Frutiy in taste as well. Wonderful stuff. slowrunner77 (12594) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 1, 2014
easily my favorite in the Big Worse line. while the bourbon version smooths things out, it was simplistic. this one is dangerously smooth and complex with sweetness from the bw still coming through, alcohol apparent only in the back end of the aroma, a slightly sour tobacco sweetness added to (not instead of) the flavor of the original beer. great stuff, wish i didn’t have to get it on-line."

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Wyśmienite piwo, pełne nut fig, suszonych owoców, melasy, wiśni, z cierpko-kwaskowatą beczką po czerwonym winie. teorn88 (7687) - Rimini, ITALY - SEP 8, 2012
On tap at CBC, London. It pours a mostly clear dark ruby/brown colour with a small beige head. Lasting foam. Aroma of sweet caramel, plums, figs, raisins and porto wine. Taste is similar: server with toffee, red fruits, bread and red wine. Body is medium with good carbonation. Overall, pretty outstanding barley wine. Reddish amber color with beige head. Fruity, malty aromas with dried fruit, plum, wood, caramel, red wine. In mouth, fruit, red wine, wood, warm alcohol finish. Full body, with a touch of sweetness. Can feel the ABV but not overwhelmingly so. Very nice.
