This gets points for uniqueness. Aroma and flavor of bready malt, caramelized sugar, hops, oak and red wine tartness. Color was deep brown with a red tint. Full palate and a slightly dry finish.

cloudy brown, smooth light brown head. Very nice woody bw aroma, dusty. Dry, tight. Faint cellary which suits it well. Flavor is sweet malty, hint of red wine, wood, malts. Long aftertaste

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Clear orange red coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel, dried fruits, marzipan and cookies. Swet and fruity flavour of caramel, dried fruits and red wine with notes of alcohol and hops. Sweet and warming alcoholic finish.

12.7oz bottle from west lakeview liqours. pours a murky orange-copper with a thin, bubbly, off-white head leaving sticky, dripping lace on the glass. aroma is great with big notes of vanilla, sweet oak, and toffee backed by fresh, piney, hop esters, red berries, and tart red wine with hints of gingersnap cookies, brandied figs, and sweet malts. flavor is damn tasty as well, but a bit tame compared to the aroma, with sweet oak, vanilla, and red wine backed by toffee candy, pine esters, and sugar cookies with subtle touches of raisin, fig, and cake crust. palate is full bodied with smooth carbonation and a sweet, dry, fruity finish. overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Tasted on 4/19/11 from a 375mL bottle purchased at Lush West Town. Pours cloudy red-amber with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to thin even lace with a bunch of residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is tons of brown sugar and bread malt with vanilla and cinnamon oak. The flavor is sweet with molasses and brown sugar up front, moving to spicy cinnamon, vanilla, a burnt bitterness. The body is full with light carbonation and a long burnt bitter, vanilla, and tannic finish.

Courtesy of ksurkin. My favorite bottle format, green 0.375L with super wide cap, pours murky amber with copper edges and full mocha head. The aroma is big pine hops, earthy hops, sweet slick malts and some citrus hops that feed into tart red wine like notes. The taste has pulses of tart red wine and wood that are tempered by thick sweet malts and robust levels of pine hoppiness. Behind those notes some spicy hops and earthy hops seem to rattle around in the background. Into the finish sweet maltiness seems to roam around amid tart red wine and bitter hops.

vyvvy (6572) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 4, 2011
Pours dark crimson / brown with a tan soapy head. The aroma has lots of deep caramel malt, richness, light barrel, cream, brown sugar, toffee and light hints of red wine. Full body with lots of smoothness and flowing semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts sweet with brown sugar, lots of malt, alcohol warmth, caramel, toffee and a hint of oak. The finish adds some light red wine notes and is very woody and robust. Nice beer overall.

Bottle. Pours murky reddish amber. Tan head. Nose/taste of caramel, toffee, vinous notes, oak and almonds. Alcohol noticeable in finish, but not overpowering. Vinous notes are well balanced throughout. Mouth feel is mildly sticky at times. Medium to full body.

Bottle. Dark amber beer with a tan head. Caramel and red wine aroma with oak and vanilla. Caramel and light toffee flavor with oak, earth, and vanilla. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and light fruitiness lingers with oak and earthiness.
