UPDATED: MAY 16, 2012 Pours Clear and shiny goldish yellow with no head - just some simmering of the mousse. Aromas of peach, almond and butter (like a crumble coming from the oven), alcohol, honey and pineapple. Full body with initial sweetness that is immediately overtaken by the warmth of the alcohol and it bites quite hard. Flavours only come in the finish as the alcohol wears out - nuts, port/sherry PhillyCraft (7225) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Bottle. Pours a moderately carbonated pinkish orange. Medium head, small amount of sticky white lacing. Aromas and taste of bannana bread, fuel, slight dogfish nail polish remover yeast, sweet barley, tons of caramel malt and crystal malt. I understand this beer was 18% but it was still very hot in the chest. Not hidden well at all. Finishes with a boozey mango mead flavor and aftertaste Ron (3956) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2012
On tap at The Old Toad after free steak dinner I won from work at the Fairport Inn. Clear golden with no head. Spicy Belgian yeast, esters, alcohol and banana on the nose. Heavy sweet, alcoholic, fruity and malty flavors. Full body, alcoholic warmth. The 1st sip gave me flash backs to the Yukon Jack days of many years ago. It tasted like there was that much booze in this. rederic (3337) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 27, 2012

To be honest with you, I hate these "beer rating" websites, I feel they overshadow the real gems that are out there with "top beers" bias when consumers are in front of that beer selection looking to make a purchase, especially in this smart-phone-saturated day and age. But, because I finally opened this on-a-whim purchase that I made well over a year ago, I figured I’d provide a review. Pours a fairly-clear (but not filtered) gold color, low-mild carbonation, mild lacing upon swirling. Smells of booze, tons of caramel, vanilla, spice, and a hint of dark fruit. Light-medium body. Tastes as it smells. There is a little heat after swallowing, but that comes with anything 18.5% abv. Stellar stuff. Take my advice ..... share this bottle with a friend, do not drink this entire bottle by yourself like I have. MotherBrother (945) - Aalborg, DENMARK - MAR 24, 2012
Pour deep amber, with no head at all.
Aroma of caramel, ripe fruits, apricot, dates, fudge, candied apples. The alcohol is definitely present, but not at all overpowering, and only a slight burn is detected.
Taste is sweet. Very sweet, but still well balanced.
Oily body, with a flat carbonation. dnstone (3414) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 11, 2012
Barly strength in the aroma. Poured amber in color with off-white head. Strong chewy barley sweetness; coats and lasts...some orange and floral notes in the finish.

375ml bottle listed at 17.6%ABV pours a golden orangeish color with a small white head which leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits and malts with some floral hops. Taste is a big malty sweetness with hints of fruit and a modest hop bitterness and nice alcohol burn in the finish. Nicely balanced flavors. Full bodied with light carbonation. A truly outstanding barley wine. goatboy (12) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 7, 2012
Opened after 1.5 years of cellaring, Pour is a Cloudy, Hazy, Murky Brown with almost non-existent carbonation and no head. Aroma is sweet earthy fruit, caramel, bubble-gum & hops. Flavour is similar with lots of fruit, dates, orange, caramel, apple and hops. texture is slightly oily and defiantly full bodied. this beer has a sweet warming astringent alcohol finish and is enjoyable
