Pours brown with a thin head. Aroma is very hoppy. Perfume and grass with the verry bold malt notes. Very thick malty flavour with strong bold hop complexity. This is a very nice barley wine. But I feel it could use more time. It is a nice barley wine. but I could handle more complexity from a 17% beer.

On tap at The Old Toad after free steak dinner I won from work at the Fairport Inn. Clear golden with no head. Spicy Belgian yeast, esters, alcohol and banana on the nose. Heavy sweet, alcoholic, fruity and malty flavors. Full body, alcoholic warmth. The 1st sip gave me flash backs to the Yukon Jack days of many years ago. It tasted like there was that much booze in this.

Tap @ Copenhagen 2010. Slight hazy copper color, short head. Firm malty body. Alcoholic raisiny sweetness. Bit over the top. Preferred the cat in the barrel.

Bottle. Toffee colored beer with a cream colored head. Pine and grapefruit aroma with big alcohol notes and sweet caramel. Alcohol flavor with pine, summer fruit, and caramel. Medium-plus bodied. Alcohol and sweet malt linger with summer fruit and pine.

Cloudy tanned-orange, super viscous. Near overpowering pear brandy nose, cleanses the brachioles. Exceptionally fruity, sharp esters and ethyls swirly tightly. Bready and fruity body, again with lots of esters and some alcohol heat. Aside from perhaps being excessively potent for my tastes, I can see this skull-splitter as just the tonic for for a cold, windy night, curled up by the firey hearth. Thanks for sharing, Scrizz!
