On tap. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Intense - almost herbal - hop aroma. Fairly solid body with the carbonation being a little low. Intense caramel, again almost herbal, cough syrupy with the massive hoppiness almost vanishing under the sugary sweetness and the burning alcohol. Definitely a sipper - hard to drink and hard to digest. 080110 JensenTaster (1719) - DENMARK - MAR 17, 2010
(on bottle, very genorously open at around 10, on a simple friday by Mads in his shop) Golden orange and a very fast disapearing, white head. The alcohol hits at first and then a heavy lash of rotten ochards and chewing gum. It´s overwhelming and the lack of malt to balance the massive hopping and alcohol volume, the beer get´s way over the top for me. Waiting, maybe the beer would grow more complex, but no, too many edges in this baby. Pinball (12310) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 12, 2010
dark amber, smooth offwhite yellowish thick head.
aroma is prickly strong boozy, flowery hops, eggyolk, malts, quite strong aroma but not very flavorfull. lots of punch.
flavor is sweet malty, faint hoppy, boozy, but less boozy than 17.6% for sure, faint citric note. orange. Need some time to adjust to such a high abv, but the beer itself is a good very sweet barley wine with some hops to balance. MiP (15972) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 11, 2010
Draught at KØ10. Mild caramelly aroma. Cloudy amber colour. Small white head. Burning alcohol. Too sweet. madsberg (11776) - Søborg, DENMARK - SEP 11, 2010
Bottled. Amber coloured. Uncelar. Small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, alcoholdense, spiced, caramelly and full of ripe fruits. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, full of overripe fruits, spice and alcohol. Medium bodied. Sweetish and fruity end. Hmmm. Not really to my likings.

Pours brown with a thin head. Aroma is very hoppy. Perfume and grass with the verry bold malt notes. Very thick malty flavour with strong bold hop complexity. This is a very nice barley wine. But I feel it could use more time. It is a nice barley wine. but I could handle more complexity from a 17% beer. Japalo (1887) - DENMARK - FEB 1, 2011
I am not so familiar with this type of Beer. Nice slight undefined bread-herbs aroma, may be raisins. Moderate brown haze appearance with a sweet pleasant dry finish. Served at approx 8 -12 degree celcius. Normally i like bitter "beers" but this was a nice experience. Ron (4183) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2012
On tap at The Old Toad after free steak dinner I won from work at the Fairport Inn. Clear golden with no head. Spicy Belgian yeast, esters, alcohol and banana on the nose. Heavy sweet, alcoholic, fruity and malty flavors. Full body, alcoholic warmth. The 1st sip gave me flash backs to the Yukon Jack days of many years ago. It tasted like there was that much booze in this. Bragesnak (5394) - Aarhus, DENMARK - MAR 29, 2010
