Woo hooooo this means business. Gorgeous orange amber looks, still managing to hold onto a thin off white head. Stunning snout. Huge Mikkeller barley wine with some glorious bourbon. Not overdone but clear as day. Some fantastic smoke, peat, salt and seaweed in the flavour. Amazing burnt caramel and fruit along with some really tasty bitterness. So much caramel and vanilla. Alcohol is remarkably well hidden. Amazing hit of everything in the finish, eventually settling on some burnt caramel. Bloody amazing stuff. As expected.
Cloudy amber pour with a nice bubbly white head. Aroma is brown sugar, citrus, bourbon, light wood, and honey. Flavor is sweet, syrupy, honey, brown sugar, light vanilla, citrus hops. Damn good. Yes. jesperhammer (4874) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 22, 2011
22-APR-2011, bottle @home, from "Ølbutikken".
Tasted side by side with the "regular" edition.
Golden orange with nice beige head. Lovely nose. Bourbon on that perfect malty barley wine base.
Sweet, fingers become sticky...
...bourbon is present, on top of fruity flavors. OK carbonation. So much better than the regular. Enjoyed with Christian in his Garden.:-) a_cross (639) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2013
Golden brown, minimal head; stewed candy fruit aroma, like an especially boozy Christmas pudding; tasted of stewed orange, candy peel, marmalade, spices; bourbon there but not too harsh (unlike most similar beers that I’ve had); peaty, salty; long sticky finish; top, top complex stuff - I’m a sucker for savouring these thick heavy beers over the course of a few hours; as a lightweight one-beer-a-night man I was in a state come the end and contrived to knock over the last fifth or so; at £18 a bottle (the beer’s big negative), I’d have cried if the beer hadn’t already made me so happy. angel77 (3737) - oviedo, SPAIN - JAN 28, 2014
Alucinante cerveza.

Im not a huge Bourbon fan but this beer was great! Not harsh to drink and Mikkeller makes great beers. I would recomend this for someone just getting into the bourbon beers. Great Barley Wine. I loved that it was not over hopped like a lot of Barley Wines are now a days. jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 14, 2011

Pours a hazy copper colour with not head after a minute or so. Aroma is majorly bourbon, some sweet toffee, and some fruity notes on the end. Flavours are bourbon up front and on the finish, in the middle is a sweet toffee followed by a warming alcohol. Pretty smooth for 19.1 abv!
