Very old rating found on a loose page while cleaning, possibly from 2010. Notes are from a tasting, maybe RB gathering in Grand Rapids - Dark copper pour, very hazy. Aroma of bourbon, oak, and alcohol. The flavor also features bourbon and oak along with some dark fruit notes. Alcohol is definitely apparent at this abv but it's not overpowering. Excellent beer. Bottle, shared with BBGTC, enjoyed three years before bbd. Pours clear mahogany, with almost no head. Aroma is malty notes with fruity notes of raisins and dark cherries, toffee, tannins, vanilla, and wood. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet malty notes, with caramel, toffee, honey, and vanilla, as well as fruity and floral notes, and some alcohol sting lingering throughout the finish. Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, grass, oak, alcohol, burnt caramel, raisins, candi sugar, citrus peel. Taste is slightly dry concentrated grassy, citrus peel, weeds, minerals, grass, alcohol, oak, burnt caramel, raisins, dried fruits, hay, "knekk". Medium bitterness, slightly dry mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough, but no bourbon in this one anymore...
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a clear deep amber body with a tiny white head. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, toffee, rum, biscuits and hints of raisins, alcohol, demamara sugars and dark sugary tones. Taste is caramel, toffee, dried fruits, apricot, raisins, dark sugars and hints of figs, alcohol and wood. Full, sticky body with a soft to medium carbonation. Heavy stuff, the dense flavors are boozy but not overly so and the composition is that of a gigantic beer, as it is. Best suited as a substitute for a night cap cognac or whisky, not for the faint hearted.

Huge sticky dank beer, that actually hides the ABV well. I thought this was around 13%. Apricot, toffee, bourbon, vanilla. phat ass. Zlotta (4148) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
Sampled from 0.375 l bottle. Clear, dark amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey, vanilla and some treacle. Rather sweet, malty taste of caramel, treacle, cinnamon, vanilla and some oak, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, rather warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice! Koelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
Heller, alkoholisch würziger Antrunk. Leicht herb, spritzig, die Alkoholnoten sind gut versteckt. Milde Holznoten, vollmundig. Langer Nachhall. 10/10/10/10//10 Beerhunter111 (23272) - Beerland, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2016
