yngwie (17173) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2012
Bottle. A hazy one, dark golden in color and topped by a dense, off-white to light beige head. Quite alcoholic on the nose, with dried fruits, piney hops, tropical fruits, some malty sweetness and a little touch of grapes. Nice, but nothing more. The flavor though is on another level, sort of balanced, and really pleasant, with some chocolate, sweetness, dried fruits, bitterness and booze. Lasting finish. Pleasant indeed, but the aroma is a bit disappointing. Good thing the aroma isn’t the most important part of the experience. 120915

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours hazy amber with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has lots of fat caramelly cognac notes, oaky dryness, vinious, caramel, red apples, sweet malts. Low carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is sharp alcohol, balanced okay with good oaky dryness, some fruity caramel notes. Clear notes from the cognac barrel. Lingering warming finish. Very nice, even if the alcohol does dominate too much. Helps a lot as it warms.
