375ml bottle shared with Farees and Jamey. Some really old bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a weak brown head. Aroma is lots of barrel, chocolate, bourbon. Totally flat as a red wine barrel aged that I've just had. Taste is similar to the aroma. Despite it was totally flat I was enjoining it as a wine. Good stuff. Bottle - Big barrel notes. Jet black brown with no head. Light body and Big barrel notes. Again toothin and the huge barrel notes overwhelm. Ascelja (2091) - Neratovice, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 18, 2017

Bottle. Literally black, minimal brown head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malts, pralines, chocolate and chocolate. Taste is neutral, a bit bitter. Alcohol, chocolate, pralines, raisins macerated in liqueur, nuts. Noble alcohol, but too much for me - not perfectly balanced. Smooth, silky heavy body, low carbonation.
Personal note: 1/4 exclusive beer for 4th wedding anniversary.
Bottle 0.375l. Hazy, dark brown to black colored. AROMA- bourbon, dark chocolate, pralines, nuts, wood. FLAVOR- touch of sweetness and sourness, smooth bitterness, pleasant and quite strong alcohol presence, bourbon, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, pralines. Fuller bodied. radagast83 (8889) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 25, 2017
Consumed for “Drink It Now” day, hosted by GenDV138. Poured a pretty black-brown color. Aroma was really bitter, burnt coffee. Lots of robust, bitter chocolate. Bourbon really comes through, woody and vanilla notes. Lots of alcohol comes through, but it’s more smooth than I thought it would be.

Small slightly bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry mineraly, dark malts, burnt sugar, minerals, booze, oak, licorice, dark sugar, grass, weeds, burnt coffee. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, dark malts, burnt sugar, booze, minerals, bark, oak, weeds, burnt coffee, licorice, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and burnt watery mouthfeel. Fair enough, probably way over the top...
375 ml bottle at home purchased a few years ago. Pours dark brown to black in color with a minimal beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, honey, coffee, I had this fresh with many of the other variants and remember it being more bourbon forward, now flavors are more balanced, some oxidation, low carbonation, still good. phaleslu (11168) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 9, 2016
375 ml bottle purchased from The Wine and Cheese Place in 2010 or 2011. Opened blindly alongside all other variants. Pours a deep, nearly opaque dark brown with minimal tan head that settles into a ring. This one has notes of cocoa, fudge, vanilla, honey, oak, coffee, dry roasted malts, and just a wee hint of dark dried fruits. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, smooth, rich mouthfeel. My guess was Rum, given the more prominent barrel character and hint of dark fruit, but the fact it was Bourbon was a bummer to me after my extensive experience with the spirit and barrel treatment for beer. Tap. Dark mahogany/nearing on black, tan head. Nice bourbon aromas, roast, chocolate and coffee. Chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, some woodiness and ash in the finish. Medium/thicker viscous body.
