INDASTRIA (129) - Berlin & Rome, - JAN 9, 2012
Bottle @ Brasserie 4:20. Black pearl color, very short brown head fast to disappear. Aroma of chocolate, alcohol. No noticeable smell of bourbon or vanilla; some fresh wood maybe. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, cherries, alcohol, molasses, just a little bit of vanilla when the beer got warmer. A little bit disappointing

#1259
Bottle. Literally black, minimal brown head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malts, pralines, chocolate and chocolate. Taste is neutral, a bit bitter. Alcohol, chocolate, pralines, raisins macerated in liqueur, nuts. Noble alcohol, but too much for me - not perfectly balanced. Smooth, silky heavy body, low carbonation.
Very good.
Personal note: 1/4 exclusive beer for 4th wedding anniversary.

Bottle 0.375l. Hazy, dark brown to black colored. AROMA- bourbon, dark chocolate, pralines, nuts, wood. FLAVOR- touch of sweetness and sourness, smooth bitterness, pleasant and quite strong alcohol presence, bourbon, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, pralines. Fuller bodied.
Great.

Consumed for “Drink It Now” day, hosted by GenDV138. Poured a pretty black-brown color. Aroma was really bitter, burnt coffee. Lots of robust, bitter chocolate. Bourbon really comes through, woody and vanilla notes. Lots of alcohol comes through, but it’s more smooth than I thought it would be.

tmrmwel (2180) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 1, 2016
Bottle shared with BBGTC, vintage 2010. Pours translucent black, with almost no head at all. Aroma is dark malts, with bread, leather, bourbon and wooden barrels, as well as notes of coffee. Medium body, with light body and very soft carbonation. Flavour is burned malts, with raw cocoa, charcoal and earthy notes, as well as leather, tannins and bourbon barrels.

30.05.2016, 0,375l bottle (2010 vintage) shared @ BBGTC tasting:
Small slightly bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry mineraly, dark malts, burnt sugar, minerals, booze, oak, licorice, dark sugar, grass, weeds, burnt coffee. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, dark malts, burnt sugar, booze, minerals, bark, oak, weeds, burnt coffee, licorice, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and burnt watery mouthfeel. Fair enough, probably way over the top...

375 ml bottle at home purchased a few years ago. Pours dark brown to black in color with a minimal beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, honey, coffee, I had this fresh with many of the other variants and remember it being more bourbon forward, now flavors are more balanced, some oxidation, low carbonation, still good.

phaleslu (10462) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 9, 2016
375 ml bottle purchased from The Wine and Cheese Place in 2010 or 2011. Opened blindly alongside all other variants. Pours a deep, nearly opaque dark brown with minimal tan head that settles into a ring. This one has notes of cocoa, fudge, vanilla, honey, oak, coffee, dry roasted malts, and just a wee hint of dark dried fruits. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, smooth, rich mouthfeel. My guess was Rum, given the more prominent barrel character and hint of dark fruit, but the fact it was Bourbon was a bummer to me after my extensive experience with the spirit and barrel treatment for beer. Damn.

Tap. Dark mahogany/nearing on black, tan head. Nice bourbon aromas, roast, chocolate and coffee. Chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, some woodiness and ash in the finish. Medium/thicker viscous body.
