3.5
Yorker (2082) - Holstebro, DENMARK - SEP 29, 2013
Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and a tiny tan head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is peat, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, and coffee. Flavour is much like the aroma – with a bitter, peaty finish.

HopRedHead (397) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor, shared with Bruce Willis. Pours motor oil black, no head. Immediate aroma of peat, leather, licorice and coffee. So far, so good. Taste is very peaty, hit of coffee, a nice touch of hazelnut, licorice and a warm booziness on the way down. Also a nice whisky malt profile very present. Very reminiscent of Laphroaig. Peatiness accumulates as I pour another glass. I love smokey beers, and this one is certainly up there.

Barrelbelly (751) - BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2013
Black with no head. Predominantly peated whisky aroma and taste. Some wood and hogh alcohol finish.

Uhlen (251) - Trondheim, NORWAY - JUN 14, 2013
Black pour with a thick brown head. Aroma is sweet of dark fruits, chocolate, leather and whisky. Taste brings out alot of the peat from the whisky, but is very sweet aswell. Loving it.

allfreej (556) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 8, 2013
On tap at Holy Grale, Louisville.

Black pour with a sticky tan head. Lots of lace on the glass.

Full sticky mouthfeel. Nice alcohol warmth in the aftertaste.

Roasty malt, raisin, and very peaty scotch whisky in the nose.

The taste is dominated by the scotch. Very peaty very smoky. Lots of alcohol comes through in the finish. Delicious.

Tasted side by side by side with the white wine and tequila barrel expressions. The strongest tasting of the three, it tasted best as it warmed.

Christopsy (137) - SCOTLAND - MAY 5, 2013
Huge imperial stout, major coffee and dark chocolate notes with peaty whisky on the finish.. Smells of Laphroig and dark chocolate. 2 thumbs up!

Garlic_of_Doom (655) - SWEDEN - MAR 24, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2013 Bottle, 2011 vintage.
Pours black with a small brown head.
Aroma is dominated by peat whiskey, tar, smoke, hemp rope but some sweet notes, liquorice and some alcohol shines through at the end.
Taste has sweetness at first followed by peat, liquorice, dry chocolate/cocoa, booze drenched dark fruit/cherries and vinous notes. After taste is long, peaty/tarry and dry. Low carbonation, thick mouth feel. Really great stuff!

I’ve read some bad stuff about this Black Hole variation and I can see why - If you’re expecting Black Hole with a little twist that is. This is pretty much a whole different beer.

LoFi (1756) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 10, 2013
Bottled 18/05/11.
Black with quite a large brown head.
Aroma: peaty, chocolate, licorice, creamy.
Taste: peaty, roasted, cigar ashes and tobacco, cream, cocoa, coffee, some grounds, honey, dark fruit, brown sugar.
Full-bodied.
Yeah, I like this.

3.3
demmbonz (784) - Erin, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Very earthy and smokey and peaty. Medium bodied for a stout. Not a fan of smokey stuff so take my rating for what it’s worth.
