Pours a dark, unclear pitch black with no head. Great aroma, one of the best I tried. Tones of coffee, fudge, dark fruit. Almost no carbonation at all. The taste is a big disappointment though. Had it been anything like the aroma, then it might have been one of the best beers I’ve had in times. It is very flat, some mokka, a little soury and hints of cacao, but all very weak. Aftertaste is nice. Strangely, this BA version doesn’t taste anywhere as good as the normal Mikkeler Black Hole. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Pours mostly unclear with no head. Aroma is the best part, bringing huge complex notes of all of it, wine, roasted malts and chocolate, vanilla, and booze. Flavor is similar, but the booze is very pronounced and spicy combined with the wine. The flavors of vanilla and chocolate are so delicious on the palate and much more pronounced as the temperature goes up and booze settles. tderoeck (9710) - Gent, BELGIUM - FEB 10, 2014

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff aug-13. blir ingen fan av å lagre øl på rødvinsfat etter å ha smakt denne. Smaker bare surt. Svartvin? Tanninene fra fatet ødelegger et godt øl. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JAN 10, 2014
Bottle. Black body with tan head. Dry dark chocolate, dry wood, vanilla aromas. Smooth full body. Sweet dark chocolate flavors with honey, dry wood, vanilla, and deep roast maltage___nice stout. NosirIwont (2530) - Frederikssund, DENMARK - JAN 4, 2014
Bottle. 13.1%. Best before 18.03.14. Pours almost black with a small, quickly disappearing greyish-brown head. No lacing. Heavy aroma; dark fruits, a bit oxidized, somewhat dusty and a bit of wood deep down. Flavour is tart, almost sour, and bitter; rather (red) wine-like, but at the same time it has a cold coffee feel to it (without an actual coffee note). Dark fruit note as well. Finish is tart/sour with dark fruits, more wine/cold coffee (without coffee), tobacco, an alcohol burn and a lingering burnt note, the latter diminishing as it warms. Overall so-so. The aroma is rather good, but the flavour doesn’t really hold up; too tart/sour, and the cold coffee note feels misplaced. 04.01.14. Niller (1706) - Hammel, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2013
