Black tar like pour with a thick hot chocolate like head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, not much vinous scents detected. However, I can taste the effects of the wine barrel. Gives it a slight acidity. I like this beer much better than the scotch barrel, but I much prefer the tequilla and cogniac versions. Still somewhat unique effort here. This improves quite a bit drunk at a warmer temperature.
Bottle pours out black no head. Nose is roast malts coffee dark chocolate a wine barrel kick and some fruit. Taste is more of the chocolate dark fruit the wine barrels show up pretty well and some ash. Korcz (3310) - Warsaw, POLAND - APR 20, 2017

backlog, Bottle from Capones, shared with friends. We opened three different versions of this series. Pours a deep black with an average to smaller head. Notes of oak, coffee bean, chocolate, roasted malt, spruce, and sour grapes. Some more dark fruit and wine as it warms but the roast and dark malt dominates. Full bodied and warming in the close. dysenteri (319) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - NOV 3, 2016
Tap st bishop. Black, beige head. Cherry, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, booze aroma. Sweet, but very boozy mouthfeel. A bit zingy, feels like chili but could be the booze. Jashiu (933) - Gdañsk, POLAND - AUG 5, 2016
Bottle. Shared @Alebrowar Gdynia.
Smells of coffee, tar, red fruit (red grapes). Heavy red wine smells. Some wooden barrel scents.
Pours pitch black with some short lasting small tan head.
Taste is dry, cocoa beans, chocolate, some coffee. A lot of red wine as the beer gets warmer. The finish brings some wooden barrel tastes.
Almost no carbonation.
Overall very interesting beer, though very dominated by the barrel aging in the red wine barrel.
