ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - APR 22, 2015
Bottle best by 2014, so maybe 2011? Another beer I would have never bought on my own, courtesy of my friend Jason. Aroma: Maple syrup liqueur. Super sweet and boozy. Appearance:Garnet black with a bubbly mocha skin that quickly fades. Flavor: Super sweet and boozy maple syrup liqueur. Palate: Light body, slick texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: Glad I didn’t pay for this. My wife said she would give her tick a zero if she were allowed.

Lighter taste. Aged in the cellar a few years. Rum in finish with coffee. Honey though preserves did’t add to the ageing taste.

Pours tar black with no head. Aroma of rum, vanilla, molasses, and coffee. Licorice, molasses, vanilla flavor with lots of rum at the back end. Creamy body. Very nice beer.

"Another smooth beer for 13%. This one, which I belie is 2010 but can’t say for sure, falls in the middle of the black hole line for me...like the cognac, bourbon, red wine and base better, but liked this one better than the tequila, white wine and scotch. The barreling is not overbearing, making for a nice dessert beer as the honey and coffee are still very evident. If anything, just a bit too sweet, but definitely enjoyable. "

Fast schwarzes Bier, keine Schaumbildung. Geruch alkoholisch, Kaffee, Rum. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, alkoholisch, Rum, holzig.

Koelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 19, 2014
Rund malzig alkoholischer Antrunk. Deutliche Rum Noten, insgesamt ist das Bier aber nicht vollmundig. Die Lagerung war anscheinend zu lange. 9/11/8/8/9/9

Svesse (8962) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 14, 2014
(Bottle) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, liquorice, soy sauce, muscovado sugar, tar, oak wood and sweetish hints of rum. Malty, roasted taste with notes of strong sweet espresso, tar, liquorice, soy sauce, muscovado sugar, hints of oak wood and a sweet ans slightly boozy finish with a generous cocoa bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. The wood character feels a bit toned down, but gives a certain sweetness and alcohol feel. Not really balanced, but quite tasty. Very nice.

maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Bottle at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 07/16/2011. Dark black body with a small frothy tan head. Sweet roast, chocolate and light rum aroma. Sweet roast, chocolate, light creosote and faint rum notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Dogbrick (14326) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 5, 2013
Sample at the "Far Out! Space-themed beer tasting" on 10/01/2013. Opaque brown-black pour with a medium foamy beige head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of rum, coffee and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of sweet rum, espresso and charred malt. The finish is somewhat boozy with a rum-infused coffee aftertaste. Good overall.
