Bottle. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of agave/tequila with roasted malts and a bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor has strong tequila note with only s hint of backing roasted malts and bitter chocolate.

Pours pitch black with a bit of a tan head. Aroma of tequila sweetness combined with an ash tray. So it smells like a dive bar. Flavor is like taking a shot of tequila and then smoking a cigarette, and I quit. Drain pour. I don’t even know if oxidation can cause this mess.

12.7oz bottle. Pours black with creamy espresso head. Aroma is cocoa, light coffee tequila, earthiness and some fruit. Taste is sweet with some more fruitiness. Full bodied and sticky. I like this quite a bit.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2012 Of all the barrel aged black holes I tasted, this was the one I was least looking forward to. However, I must say that in the end it ended up being my favorite of the series. The tequila sour does not come through the malty sweetness, but the flavor cuts clean at the end and doesn’t linger or funk up the palate.

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2012
Bottle: Black beer with a medium vast ashy tan to ashy brown head which disappears slowly into a vast and closed brown lacing. The smell gives away we are dealing with a more complexer Imperial Stout. Aromas of dark chocolate and vanilla, hints of soya, liquid brown sugars and liquorice, some nice soft roasted malts and corn, sweet and bitter hops... Taste is sweeter than expected: spicy with earthy tones, full bitter, hint of sweets (liquid dark sugars), some soya, spicy, some alcohol, lot of roasted ingredients with some sticky dark sweets mixed within.  Aftertaste roasted grains, some dark sweets, something whiskey/spicy ish and sticky. Low carbo, soft spicy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy  sticky texture. This beer has a fine smell and a good taste, didn’t expect the beer to be this good.

Pours a deep black. Complex aromatics of vanilla, cinnamon , and espresso. Sweet malt drives longer hints of malt, coffee, cocoa and vanilla bean. Mid length finish. Fun beer.

The tequila barrels haven't made it better, the taste is a peculiar "light" taste which doesn't fit the beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Brewdog Camden. Pours a deep black color with a small brown head. Aroma is stunning, deep and compex. Tequila, wood, cocoa nibs, vanilla. Taste is on the sweet side with a moderate roasted malt bitter bite to it. Nice notes of wood and spirit over a thick bold layer of dark choloate. Body is full and thick with good carbonation. Outstanding. Definitely go for it if you get the chance to try it.
