Finally! Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written. The high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a perfect and complex beer in the heavyweight category.

Wow second 13% beer in 3 weeks and second ever. Coffee, caviar, cocoa, cigar, wow! Where is the alcohol, can't taste it. And the beer isn't motor oil either! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Little cloudy dark brown beer, creamy irregular beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet malty, caramel, soft roast, bit dusty. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, malty, pretty sourish as well, weird enough, soft roast, caramel. Aftertaste: coffee, nice roast, sweet, caramel, some coffee, alcohol burn in the finish.

Pours black with a light beige bubbly head. Aromas of roasted malt, a sweetness, and not any coffee at all. Taste of bitter and smoky roasted malts, but thats blunted on the back end and the honey makes itself known in an amazing way. A really nice finish to the flavor. Slightly boozy, which is to be expected for a 13% stout. Delicious.

Bottle 0.375L. Dark brown-to-black body with a huge, frothy, tan head, fully lasting with nice lacing. Moderate-to-heavy malty (roasted) and light-to-moderate hoppy (citrus) aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, some vanilla, blackberry and alcohol. Moderate-to-heavy sweet and bitter flavour; long lasting finish with a sweetish character that develops into a dry coffee note. Medium-to-full body with oily-to-creamy texture; soft carbonation; light-to-moderate alcoholic warming in the finish. Very nice and complex!

On tap at Harrys Hofbrau in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is strange charred fruits, dark herbal elixirs, roast coffee, tobacco and leathery things. Taste is sweet dark fruits, overripe plums, tangy porter qualities. Hard to pin this beast down, got the best of me...

Backlog, tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Pours an evil looking pitch black with a brown head that lingers then dissipates. Lots of roasted cacao nib, toasted vanilla, coffee, dark fruit and faint licorice. Oily on the palate, with lots of roast. As it warms more of the fruit comes out on the palate into the finish. Warming finish, but abv hidden fairly well for how high it is.

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Intensywnie palone, kawowe, nuty miodowe/cynamonowe też się przewijają.

0,375l bottle bought from Alko November 2015. Pours pitch black colour with some head. Flavor of roasted malts, sweetness, caramel, alcohol, coffee, cocoa and vanilla, gives a bit sweet boozy feeling. Heavy but balanced beer, bitterness does edge out the alcohol a bit, which still stands out. Warm alcoholy aftertaste.

Butelkowane. Barwa ciemno brunatna/czarna. Piwo niezwykle złożone - głwnie dominują palone słody - mocna kawa, gorzka czekolada, trochę kakao. W tle za to moc ciemnych, suszonych owocw, lekka "kawowa" kwaskowatość. Smak umiarkowanie do wysoce słodkiego, super, lekka kontra goryczkowa, kwaskowate (kawa). Alko bdb ukryte. Generalnie bardzo dobre piwo, znakomice ukryty alkohol, dobra kompozycja słodw palonych z fajną kontrą pod postacią ciemnych, suszonych owocw. Solidne piwo od Mikkellera.
