Finally! Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written. The high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a perfect and complex beer in the heavyweight category.

Bottle into snifter. Pours viscous, opaque black, with no real head at all. Nose is roasty, big cocoa, with a sweetly vinous quality that comes through as rich sweet dark fruits and some alcohol, bit of tar. Bit nutty even. This is not your run of the mill RIS nose. But good - intriguing. Taste is big and sweet - vinous, sour even. I think this one is a bit off. Nonethless, you still get a peek at the beer underneath - rich, some cocoa and espresso peeking through. But the odd lactic sourness - well, that doesnt seem like its supposed to be there. Lots of berry flavors. Finish is vinous, bitter, lots of sickly sweet dark berry, sour. Mouthfeel is thick and viscous. This ones like oil sliding down. Could have used a notch more carbonation, but the huge body makes it just fine as it is - if only it tasted right. Drinkability I cant even comment on. I finished maybe half of the 375 ml bottle.

Aroma - pleasant, coffee with milk, some burnt malt, a bit of green fruits, flowers, dark honey and some yeasts. Taste - a lot of roasted malt, some burnt malt, coffee diluted with milk, a bit of sourness and burn bitterness, alcohol with cherries. Good, but quite a bit strange.

Black pour with a bit of an orange hue, thin off white head and light sticky lacing ..... aroma of honey, citrusy hops/orange and pine, roasted malts, coffee and dark dry fruits .... definitely an interesting different aroma .... taste is of honey, citrusy hops/orange, sweet, coffee, piney, roasted malts, rich and bittersweet with dark dry fruits and a very light hint of smoke .... has a dry hoppy bite on the back end .... interesting, may need to age awhile to let all of the flavors balance ..... has some slickness and oily mouthfeel .... abv hidden well .... finish is has lingering honey, sweetness and citrusy hop with roasted malts/coffee

BOTTLE 37. Pitch black, mocha head. Loads of Acetaldehyde, fresh cut zucchini, flowers some vague fruity-flowery sweetness. Yuck. Sweet dark malts and harsh peppery alcohol, mixed with Acetaldehyde. Yuck, bad bottle?

Aromat: klasycznie - czekolada, kawa, wanilia, trochę miodu i lekki alkohol.

Wygląd: barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta z obfitą, beżową pianą, trwałą i ładnie oblepiająca szkło.

Black with almost no brown head. Aroma is lots of chocolate, hot chocolate, some coffee, cocoa, dark and temptating, very clean. Taste is intense coffee bitterness, only a little chocolate sweetness, some spicy chili. Oily and heavy. Incredibly intense, very bitter. Black hole is a very fitting name for such a bomb of bitterness.

Jet-black with solid, fine, beige head. Aroma: roast malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, hops, coffee and some earthy notes. Thick, syrupy with medium carbonation. Medium sweet. Dark chocolate, roast malts, coffee in flavour. Overall very well-crafted but was a bit disappointed keeping in mind the specification.
