cloudy translucent brown, light golden at the edges. medium tan head. smoked salmon aroma. mouthfeel is light to watery, flavor is light malt and not much smoke. faint aftertaste. thanks for this one, Madsberg! Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 24, 2006
Huge thanks again to Mullman for the Danish beers at my party. Pours a cloudy muddled brown with some woody greyish brown hints and a thin dissipating head. Aroma is old burnt wood, campfire smoldering, slightly meaty, and heads towards being medicinal. Cigarett smokey flavor with some cigar, tarry, smoked fish, burnt caramel malts and a light sweetness in the end. Really nice smoke beer. lachesis (757) - St Idesbald, BELGIUM - OCT 13, 2006
Poured in a big Riedel Bordeaux glass. The color of this beer is deep amber with a hazy brown body and a warm orange glow. The head is off white to beige and not very long lasting, it leaves a nice foamy rim on the edge of the glass. The aroma is very interesting, it has indeed a smooth smoky touch but is very well integrated without being overpowering. In the nose, the caramely accents and the hints of herb bonbons ara working very well with the smell of banana on the BBQ poured over with some maple sirup. The main thing is the outstanding ballance and the elegance of the aromas. Smoke aroma’s are sometimes to overpowering but in this beer it is so smooth and interesting. Now the taste. The beer is very drinkable and has a medium boddied mouthfeel with a refreshing spritsyness. There are nice accents of milkbread crust, caramel, caramel malts, nuts, dry figg without the sweetness, minerals and the residu of burned sugar in a cake baking tin. The well integrated smokyness accentuates the complex minerality in this most outstanding brew.
A true complex beer with a smooth sweet nuttyness a low dosis of bitters and an interesting metally mineralety. Com on Rouch On. I just love it. jimmack (1223) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - OCT 3, 2006
Bottle thanks to Mullman at DB’s. Dark brown in color with some red highlights and a small off white head. Somewhat mild smoked aroma and flavor with a bit of meatiness, but more of a wood smoke. Burnt chocolate chip cookies also came through in the flavor. xproudfoot (750) - Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2006

Bottle received via Secret Santa. Pours dark tree bark, nutty brown with a medium-sized frothy off-white head that quickly fades to some patchy film on top and at the edges. Aroma is bacon, smoked meats, ashy wood and malt (cookie, meal), burnt straw, yeast (dough). Mild acidity and low bitterness, wood and smoked meat flavor, not overbearing though, trace yeast, some sweetness (toffee, butterscotch). Medium bodied, fizzy palate. kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - SEP 6, 2006
Bottle (GBBF 2006): Ruby brown with a short beige head. Bacon and pork scratching in the nose, with loads of caramel and smoke. A bit thin in feel, but very refreshing and tasty. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 5, 2006
Bottle. Hazy reddish brown with large firm beige head. Smooth smokey aroma of tar and ham with chocolately undertones. Sounds wierd but is quite delicius (I promise). Well-balanced and smooth smokey flavour of tar and salt. with sweet notes of toffee and biscuit. Mellow aftertaste of grass, biscuit, toffee and subtle smoke. Very interesting beer. Thanks to Jeppe for this one! duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 1, 2006
Bottle, thanks Ungstrup. Quite smooth and yes, smoky. There are hints of roastyness, but this definitely leans towards the bacony, smoked malt characters. Some light acidity shows through in the end, but it adds to the beer i think (in a good way), this was pretty decent stuff. Engelsmann (651) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 23, 2006
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown, with a white head. Aroma is sweet malts and just a hint of smoke. Taste is sweet malts, moderately smoked. A really nice beer from mikkeller
