This is a rauchbier brewed with german rauchmalt and peated malt only. It's fermented with lager yeast at ale temperatures - like a California Common.

Hazy dark brown colour. Cold smoked aroma is distant and sparse. Chocolatey flavour is sweet and rich, with a gentle smokiness that interplays with the chocolate well, providing a complementary role. Full body. Overall, an interesting take, sweet and mellow.

Thanks to sk8viking for this beer. I like it. It’s a very nicely done smoked beer. Beautiful smokey aroma along w/ a smokey, but not overpowering flavor, it’s very enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear brown colour with a big off-white head. Sweet malty smoky aroma. Sweet malty slighty roasted flavor with some nice smoked hints. Malty smoky warming aftertaste.

Bottle at home, shared it with me. Dark brown/red, god light head. Burned malts, sweet malts , smoke, berries in the aroma. Taste: a little like malty whitebeer, malts, smoke, light aftertaste. Middel carbonated.

Bottle. This is the first beer from Mikkeller that I don´t like, but I just don´t like smoked beers that much. Red Brown colour with a medium beige head. Light roasted, smoked eal aroma and taste. Medium body.

This is a beer. It is nice. All beers from Mikkeller are nice. Mikkel is nice - Keller is nice. Their next beer should be "Nice Beer" from Mikkeller. ---- Taking a sip of the camp fire which at first hit my nostrils, made me think of smoked salmon, gin and loosing my orale virginity...to beer that is. Once again the key word is "smooth". Not a beer to provoque unless you’ve tried smoky beers, but more a beer to savour in front of the tv watching a World Cup soccer matc....ARGH!!! What am I doing in front of the puter? Come with me, ComOn! Let’s find a couch and a tv! (WARNING: Mikkeller beers are known for their hazardous effects to the human brain. Do not drink unless you’re prepared to get drunk, hooked or becoming a ratebeerian beer geek - if the latter is the case, go with the Beer Geek Breakfast)

Bottled: Reddish brown coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown head. Sweet and light smoky aroma. Has some mild fruity notes. Flavour is dominated by smoke, but is balanced by sweet and fruity notes. Has some chocolate notes and is quite roasty. Full bodied. Quite dry. Is nicely bitter in the end with a roasty smokyness. Smooth and easy to drink rauch, which is quite true to its German brothers.

Bottle. Cloudy orange red coloured with an off white head. Smoky aroma with notes of wood. Flavour of smoke, wood, malts and hops.

Perfect balance between Rauch, gebrannt, süss und bitter. Wir brauchen noch mehr...
