In Mikkeller we have over the years done many collaboration brews. However, the last one we did was a little unusual we collaborated with the Swedish tattoo studio Crooked Moon. The two brothers Jacob and Jonas Pedersen that run Crooked Moon Tattoo in Helsingborg wanted to celebrate their tattoo studios first birthday with a big party, and what could be more natural than to do it with a beer in their own name? The two brothers have designed the labels for this beer. And therefore this beer comes with two different labels. One by of Jacob, and the other by Jonas. The beer is just like a Crooked Moon tattoo: strong and powerful. In this case we are talking about a violently hoppy double IPA with 9% alcohol. Youll find Crooked Moon / Mikkeller DIPA find on draft and bottled. The picture show the two labels Jacobs label design to the left and of course then, Jonas to the right.En dobbelt india pale ale.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, (pilsner, pale), humle (amarillo, citra, nelson sauvin, simcoe, sorachi ace), og alegr.

0,33l bottle at home bought at Firmabier. BB 23/09/2017. orange hazy color, small off-white head. smells of spices, berry, grass, light berry. quite average smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of resin, grass, spices, peppery, bit joghurtish. finishes lightly bitter with notes of grass and joghurt. not sure what went wrong here (there is still another year on the bb-date) but this does not taste imp ipaish at all. quite old hoppy. not enjoyable.

Aroma of nectarine, orange, peach, grapefruit. Pours hazy golden, two finger frothy white head Taste is medium bitter and lightl to medium sweet. Medium body, sticky, average carbonation and quickly fading little dry finish. More grapefruity on the tongue than on the aroma. You sense the ABV a little but pretty nice overall.

Vraiment trs chouette.

Great looking beer with long lasting head. Lot of hops after the citrus fruits, medium body in the mouth, with (for me) quite a strong sense of a high ABV

Hazy, amber-orange colored, small+ off white head, very nice lacing and decent lasting. Aroma is some caramel malt, mostly tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, lime, the mix. Taste is medium+ sweet caramel malt, strong tropical notes of mango, lime, pineapple and coconut, grapefruit, medium bitterness, dryish finish, lasting aftertaste, well hidden alcohol. Medium to full bodied, soft+ carbonation, creamy. (on tap, Gainsbar, Kortrijk)

Wow thats a lot of my favourite hops all in one imperial brew. Quite sweet. Peach, pineapple, grape and some citrus. Bitterness kicks in a bit later but its fairly subtle. Medium thickness and fairly malty. Alcohol goes down unnoticed.
