COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Mikkeller we have over the years done many collaboration brews. However, the last one we did was a little unusual – we collaborated with the Swedish tattoo studio Crooked Moon. The two brothers Jacob and Jonas Pedersen that run Crooked Moon Tattoo in Helsingborg wanted to celebrate their tattoo studio’s first birthday with a big party, and what could be more natural than to do it with a beer in their own name? The two brothers have designed the labels for this beer. And therefore this beer comes with two different labels. One by of Jacob, and the other by Jonas. The beer is just like a Crooked Moon tattoo: strong and powerful. In this case we are talking about a violently hoppy double IPA with 9% alcohol. You’ll find Crooked Moon / Mikkeller DIPA find on draft and bottled. The picture show the two labels – Jacob’s label design to the left and of course then, Jonas’ to the right.En dobbelt india pale ale.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, (pilsner, pale), humle (amarillo, citra, nelson sauvin, simcoe, sorachi ace), og alegær.

330 at Olbutikken. Gorgeous label, quite hypnotic. Everything about this beer is charming and mesmerizing, actually, starting with the label. Pours a cloudy bright orange with a loose and sudsy white head. Intensely aromatic and lush tropical fruits on the nose; pineapple, mango, melon. Gorgeous and succulent. Brightly carbonated medium body. Caramel bouncing around inside a jetwash of delectably fruity hops on the mid palate. Clean, harmonious, and shockingly balanced for how over the top they are. Long sweet finish with just enough crisp bitterness to balance. Beautifully done.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2014 330 ml bottle, pours hazy golden brown with a small white head. Aroma is heavy citrus hop aroma, with grapefruit, orange, pineapple over a caramel and biscuit malt backbone. Balanced very well with a lingering bitter finish. A well crafted IIPA with few surprises but tasty and strong.

33cl bottle.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2013 Original rating: 2013-01-25: 8,3,8,3,16=3.8. Tap. Unclear orange with a diminishing white head. Aroma is dominated by hops; pineapple, mango. Some caramel comes through as it warms up. Taste is medium+ sweet, medium carbonation, medium+ body, oily texture. Finish is dry with tropical fruits.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a large off white head. Good retention and lace. Light sharp nose with zest and alcohol. White bread, tropical fruity hop notes, sorachi dill, nelson petroleum. A bit rough, noticeable alcohol and the body seems a bit light for all the hops and alcohol. Alcoholic finish with sorachi notes.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm, 19 Jan 2013) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus peel, grapefruit, resin, a touch of caramel and orange marmalade. Fruity, hoppy taste with orange peel, marmalade, grapefruit, some caramel and a solid bitterness with resinous hops. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness.
