In Mikkeller we have over the years done many collaboration brews. However, the last one we did was a little unusual – we collaborated with the Swedish tattoo studio Crooked Moon. The two brothers Jacob and Jonas Pedersen that run Crooked Moon Tattoo in Helsingborg wanted to celebrate their tattoo studio’s first birthday with a big party, and what could be more natural than to do it with a beer in their own name? The two brothers have designed the labels for this beer. And therefore this beer comes with two different labels. One by of Jacob, and the other by Jonas. The beer is just like a Crooked Moon tattoo: strong and powerful. In this case we are talking about a violently hoppy double IPA with 9% alcohol. You’ll find Crooked Moon / Mikkeller DIPA find on draft and bottled. The picture show the two labels – Jacob’s label design to the left and of course then, Jonas’ to the right.En dobbelt india pale ale.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, (pilsner, pale), humle (amarillo, citra, nelson sauvin, simcoe, sorachi ace), og alegær.

Io sono di parte perchè adoro, tutto quello che è sfacciatamente extra ipa, e questa fa il caso mio. Aroma spettacolare, attraente e invitante, mentre in bocca è bella versione ti asfalto il palato. Bella bella

Bomber from Hy-Vee. A very cloudy orange beer. Nice creamy head, good lacing. Aroma is soft. Flavor is semi-sweet with tropical fruits, flowers, and a bit of pine. It’s a creamy body with a chalky quality. Unique beer for Christmas eve dinner.

[email protected] - hazy amber-orange beer with a little beige foam left; solid and clean hoppy aroma of mango and quinces, star fruits; full-bodied, a fair malt swetness, velvety palate, light sticky and solidly bitter; very fruity hoppy finish (quinces, peaches)- clean and straightforward

neongolden (1829) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 12, 2015
(330ml bottle shared @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 11 2015) Pours a quite hazy medium orange with lots of sediment in bottle and a big lingering white head with lace. Aroma of bright mandarin, grapefruit peel, mango, kiwi and other tropical fruit, a little resinous and leafy, clean and juicy with light sweetness. On the palate, pretty juicy and bright as well with a cleanly sweet pale malt core, orange and other citrus flavours mixing with some tropical fruit and a little gooseberry, with leafy, slightly dank and earthy pine notes. Finish has moderately high bitterness with lots of citrus peel and fruit flavours lingering. Medium-full body with fairly high, mouth filling carb. Very little alcohol. Nice balanced DIPA here, nothing revolutionary but solid and easy-drinking.

pilsnerrogge (2997) - Finspång, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2015

Bottle as a birthday gift from Pix. Cheers! Pours a hazy orange colour with a nice frothy off white head. The aroma has orange and pine notes. The taste is lightly spicy with more orangey citrus, pine, caramel. Reminds me. Alittle of jaffa cakes. The alcohol is well hidden. Very tasty.

Panzerfaust (870) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - NOV 25, 2015
330 ml bottle from Gallagher’s Beer World/El Irlandés. Pours a nice, cloudy orange color with a massive frothy white head that diminishes slowly and laces amazingly well. Aroma is strong, intensely hoppy and fruity, lush, fresh and clears your air for breathing. Fresh notes of grapefruit, peaches, oranges, pommegranate, lemongrass, a bit of resin (Simcoe hops?), watermelon and prickly pear. Loads of citrusy touches too. Very clean, bright, characterful and aromatic. Taste is crisp, loaded with fruity flavors and fine semi-bitterness. A mellow fruity sweetness allows it to achieve a great balance. Notes of orange, mellon, grapefruit and peach nectar. Hints of citrus. Finish is slightly boozy and it’s the first time you feel the high alcohol content. Medium body, medium carbonation. The high alcohol noticeable in the finish turns this into something close to a Barley Wine just during the last few seconds. Slightly confusing between extremely fresh character and alcoholic finish. If it were just 6% ABV it would be a world-class IPA. But it’s still a very fine IIPA as is.
