UPDATED: APR 28, 2017 Bottle (Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen). Black almost without head. Chocolate, coffee and delicate note of noble alcohol like liqueur in aroma. Medium sweet, chocolate with barrel note of alcohol. Full body with oil consistency, great smooth with subtle sour from coffee in the finish, warms inside. Drinking this beer is like knocking to the heaven?s door.

Black with a dense brown head. Aroma is smooth and intense with soft roasted notes, milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, prunes, figs, plums, port and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, malty, roasted bitterness and a touch of warming alcohol. Finish is medium bitter roasted notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, sweet caramel, prunes and figs, some vinous port notes with a warming alcohol. Smooth, creamy, medium to full bodied, soft carbonation.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a slightly translucent dark cola with thin beige lacing. Smells of dark malt and dark chocolate with notes of the port barrel. Tastes like it smells with a somewhat tart medium full-bodied mouthfeel with very soft (almost nonexistent) carbonation. Not bad, but underwhelming for a bunch of foreign words I don’t understand aged in a port barrel.

on tap at mikkeller and friends. pretty damn close to black with a thin brown head; some port showing in the aroma, lightly woody; some coffee grounds, heady alcohol, perhaps not as complex as the product description might imply, but still pretty drinkable
