Bottled. Very deep brown colour, close to black. Small brown head. Aroma is coffee, toffee, some fudge, alcohol and ashes. Thick and big but a bit one dimensional. Flavour is quite similar, but has quite strong tart coffeeish notes. Still a bit one dimensional due to the coffee in it.

Opaque black - brown beer, big fluffy tan head. Soft dry palate, modest fine carbonation. Smooth but rich dark malt. Touch of oaty cereal. Licorice streak. Smooth strong fruity coffee. Light spice and mild dark chocolate, Smooth dry finish. Tasty if a tad dry.

Papsoe (25060) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2012
On tap. Pours thick and syrupy black with hardly any head - just a thin brownish film. Sweet roast, pruney, chocolateish, perhaps coffeeish as well. Thick body, great, sweet roasty malts, candy-like, burned sugars and molasses. Again a whiff of coffee. Not really bitter or anything. A potent sipper for sure, but the alcohol is actually pretty well disguised. Lovely. 290712
