Pours metallic, caramel brown with a lovely, creamy, yellow-beige head. Fine duration. Aroma has mild caramel, grass, some lemony notes and a hint of liqourice or anise. Mild sweetness. Medium carbonation, fine dry and rather creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is lovely, actually. Malty, sweet, some spiciness, very light anise and a good dose of zesty oranges. Finish is dry, chocolate, light grassy hops. Long and lingering. Very nice.
Bottle. Sampel at Ølbutikken. Crreramy off-white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate maltya nd powerfull hoppy wellbalanced aroma. moderate bitter excellent flavor. Long great heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. If this is a pilsner its fantastic. If its another style its still fantastic. lassem (652) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 7, 2011
A nice beer brewed for the excellent restaurant Dim Sum in Copenhagen. When I had dinner there it turned out that most people actually were drinking this instead of the tradinal white wine. nice that beer is finding their way to the gourmet tables around here. the pour is dak west coast amber crowned with a nice fizzy sounding and frothy 2 inches white head. The nose is dominated of caramel malts, orange peel, some metal notes and a little pepper. The star anis i first find when drinking it. Its low key and a very pleasent beer that have a fine balance. The flavour is primaly calm sweet with nice spiced overtones. The palate is medium for a preimium lager and has a long lasting taste that finish in a mild bitter and sweet end. Bottle at RiceMarked, Kbh. Clear dark brown - offwhite head. Roasted, nutty, straw, hay, grainy, spicy, fruity notes, orange notes, very light star anis notes, nice malty, chocolate, dryness. Lovely. JorisPPattyn (10004) - Ursel, BELGIUM - JUN 26, 2010
Huge, collapsing amberish-yellow head, leaving shards of lace over big-bubbled mahogany beer. Extremely caramelly nose, roasting caramel, roasting chestnuts, hot waffles. Leafy, bitter-tinged caramel to toffee beer. Noble (German?) hops flavour, not syrupy at all. Faint spicy-meaty flavour, that is no doubt the star aniseed. Warming up, the finish develops a light smoked streak. Very slick, medium bodied; despite the caramel, pretty clean taste. Nice! But... Dim Sum???? A Dunkler Bock fur ze Eisbein, ja! Hai! (In fact, blind, I might have guessed some Sticke/Latzen Alt...)
