It’s hazy, red mahogany with a huge, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit, flower, alcohol and light spice. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, rather strong alcohol, fruit (mostly citrus), flower and the finish is spicy. The alcohol is a bit too strong for me, perhaps aging would be a good idea. hirigalzkar (3227) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 25, 2009
Bottle. Brown with small white head. Fruity, spicy and yeast aroma. Taste is yeasty in the belgian way, with chocolate, raisin, some alcohol and fennel. Nice but a little to easy to drink, would have liked a little more complexity and less alcoholic taste. Bragesnak (5394) - Aarhus, DENMARK - DEC 24, 2009

Brown with off-white head. Aroma of malt and yeast. Flavor is caramel, alcohol, cream and fruit notes. Adenila (1560) - DENMARK - DEC 20, 2009
Scored some extra points at the table when this was brought up, so that was a good start. Its clear medium brown with a bubling light brown head. Aroma holds notes of ripe dark fruits, cane suger and alchohol. The alchohol is abit too strong in the flavor, so i guess a few years would do it good, there is plenty of nice sweetness to back it up once it settles. , Tampere. Very deep amber colour, close to black. Mediumsized beigeish brown coloured head. Aroma is lots of caramel malts, slight dark fruits as well as wood and sap and not-too-sweet syrup. Flavour is sweet wood, burnt sugar, quite strong hoppyness but at the same time syrupy sweet. Flavour was more syrupy and sweet, but still a wellbalanced beer.
courtesy of Jespr - pours a fully dark brown colour with a huge foam; solid aroma of overripe fruits (banana, prunes), caramel and candy sugar; the alcohol is quite apparent; full-bodied and very sweet, a bit sticky; long spicy and malty finish with notes of gingerbread, ripe fruits and warming alcohol notes - heavy Pinball (12183) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 9, 2009
bottle from ølbutikken, cph.
nice bottle wrapped in golden paper, corked and caged, as pictured.
pours dark brown, with a smooth fine light brown head.
aroma of dark fruits, sweet malts, after a while some yellow fruits and hops are also found in there. great aroma.
strong flavor of english licorice, so dominant i almost can’t taste anything else. great taste though, finest licorice. dark fruits, sweetness, faint roastedness, rounded off by some flowery hops. I think the licorice impression i got was actually just the usual belgian spices, but they were close to licorice. well accomplished spicy flavor for sure. Alc well hidden and seems appropriate. some yeast in the flavor too. this is a "take your time" beer. too bad only 2000 produced. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 3, 2009

Dark cloudy amber with a good white head. Sweet, very sweet Belgian yeasty nose. Nice fruity malt in the mouth and the alcohol is very well hidden. Delicate fruity hops late on. One of the most straight forward Mikkeller beers I have had but it’s still a good one.
Botella, thanks Skinnyviking. Pours a nice dark amber brown colour with a short lasting beige looking head. The aroma has a plesant frutiness with malt, and some spice. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a pleasant sweetness with fruits and malts, some yeast, alcohol and a pleasant soft bitterness. Christian (13752) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 30, 2009
Amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of dried fruits, molasses, malt and some alcohol. Dry with flavour of toffee and dark caramelized sugar. Some alcohol heat
